Zero posts on Instagram yet hundreds of followers

I have tried Instagram several times. Account for myself. Deleted it. Account for Boone and Gracie. Deleted it. Account for simple living/minimalism. Deleted it. Currently have an account for my love of seasonal decor. (Yes, I know it's lame. All my accounts on IG were lame but I like trying). My question is how can so many people with zero posts have hundreds of followers? What are people following??? BTW, a week into my new account and I have 5 followers.

It's probably bots. They follow and read, then assimilate for future searches.

Definitely bots.

Are they famous?
Maybe some but not all. My theory is they are friends and family that follow the person when they joined and figured they'd be posting something. Some are people that follow me as well and I know that they aren't bots by what they post and have even commented on my posts. On past accounts, I have gotten the bots trying to follow me so I know how to spot (most of) them.

No, they aren't famous. Just ordinary people.

I did find out something interesting the other day. Some of those cute puppy IG accounts are really a disguise for half naked women pics. (Sorry guys, they didn't name any specific pages or I'd let you know  ). The picture you first see is a cute little puppy but as you scroll through, the rest are scantily clad women. No wonder my account for Boone and Gracie got so many weirdos following me.

On another note, I am shocked how well my seasonal decor account is doing (relative to my other attempts at IG accounts). Less than a month in and I have almost 30 followers. That is pretty good since none are family or friends. I am actually getting a handful of likes and comments on posts! And no bot accounts!! Who knew that many people enjoyed seeing pics of seasonal decor.

Quick question regarding Instagram. I am approaching 100 followers ( currently have 93) and have heard that once you get to 100, you get some sort of "perk" but you need to have a business account. Personal accounts aren't eligible. From what I can tell, you will have access to some analytical information about your followers and some sort of engagement timeline. Is it worth it to switch from personal to business?? I don't seem to think that any of the information that I'd have access to would help me in any way.

I have a few followers and no clue who they are. I've never posted one thing. I only joined to look at others pictures.

Didn't really think about that. I didn't know you had to join to look at pictures unless the account was private. That is probably the reason then. I just find it strange that someone would follow people who don't post anything.

I used to see that on Twitter all the time before I deleted my account - some rando nobody, but they have 10s of thousands of followers AND their mundane rando posts would show up in my feed even though they had nothing to do with any of the people or topics I followed. You're right - it's strange.

Maybe you do, I don't really know. I'm not very savvy at Instagram. I forget to even check it most of them.

It has never been easier to increase your popularity on social media. I know that building an Instagram community takes time and effort; however, I find it easier to become more popular on TikTok. It is known for its huge community and active status among other social media platforms. Newly I have discovered strategies to increase my account popularity by building my audience with the help of companies like famoid.com. For a few Dollars, it accelerated the growth of my TikTok profile with real followers.
