I have said it many times that a smart man surround himself with other smart competent men, because they make him look good.
We have all seen what Obama surrounds himself with. It speaks for itself.

Funny what differs in what different people see. The fact that Obama's approval numbers are anywhere near what are shown (average 43%) shows that an awful lot of people just don't care about this stuff. With all that is going on, virtually every agency steeped in scandal, Benghazi, unemployment still stagnant, the economy still stagnant, Obamacare imploding, all the lies, etc.. and 43% still approve of what he’s doing?

And Americans have been breaking that RULE OF LAW since the Revolution. There are numerous pieces floating around about desertion including 21,000 US soldiers who deserted during WWII.
Those 21,000 were all convicted of desertion and given 5 to 10 year prison terms.
To desert your unit/post in the combat zone means you are a coward, and cowards in should be shot. Bergdahl is a coward and therefore should be shot, period.
Desertion is not like walking off the high school football team, it’s an offense punishable by death and means you are a disgrace to your service, your country and yourself, there is no higher form of dishonor then to be labeled a deserter.

And, if you read the link, many, many more deserted and it was dealt with at the unit level sans court martial.
That's a draft army. It is testament to the commitment of our volunteer force that this is such a rare incident today.
What link, the link the OP provided doesn't saying anything about the desertion rate in WWII or what the War Department did to deserters.

Do you underdtand what desertion is, what it means?
Just because it was done in the past does not excuse it, 150+ years ago we had slaves, does that mean it's okay to have them again today?
He deserted his post in a combat zone, he didn't just go out for a walk and got lost, he defected to join the other side, not only is that desertion, it's treason.
