I just use the free versions and they work fine for me.

I only use Microsoft Security Essentials. Have for years without issue. Also use any browser but IE and have flash and JAVA disabled.

Started getting all kinds of pop ups. Very annoying.

I should tell the wife to stay away from the porn sites.

Make sure you keep it, and all your other SW programs up to date with patches.

Awesome on the restart.
I was told that they pushed software months ago for the higher speed.
Maybe the re-boot on the modem enabled the higher speed?
