Election 2024 Issues

🔥 I mentioned the twist, the conservative justices’ brave 6-3 ruling. The three liberal justices — Sotomayor, Sagan, and Jackson — joined the 9-0 verdict but not its reasoning. So they wrote their own separate opinion.

Specifically, the liberal Justices disagreed with the majority’s decision that no state can disqualify Trump. They would have avoided interpreting the Constitutional issue altogether, and would have ruled that only Colorado was barred from disqualifying Trump:

In other words, the majority’s ruling deleted all the other efforts to bar Trump from ballots in all the other states, not just Colorado. That may seem sensible to you, but it didn’t make sense to the liberal Justices.

To Maine would still be allowed to disqualify Trump, and they are voting today.

Key Takeaways From Supreme Court Trump Ballot Ruling

It also nullified rulings that former President Donald Trump was disqualified in Maine and Illinois and removed the disqualification option from state judges, whose decisions could have been used to justify similar moves in other states.

According to the court’s liberal justices, the decision also precluded the possibility of federal courts weighing the disqualification issue.

“It now seems all but certain Trump will be on the November ballot,” University of Michigan professor Barbara McQuade told The Epoch Times.

“Responsibility for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates rests with Congress and not the States,” the Supreme Court’s order reads.
Ms. McQuade, who left the Justice Department amid a wave of departures at the outset of President Trump’s administration, favors federal legislation disqualifying the former president but noted “that outcome seems unlikely in light of the split of power between the House and Senate.”

Perhaps foreshadowing a rocky campaign cycle, Justice Amy Coney Barrett joined the liberal justices in criticizing the extent to which the majority went in its opinion amid a “volatile” election season.

I think that's why the majority avoided in this case a narrow ruling. Sometimes SCOTUS has to put an end to an issue. In this case no more bouncing the question of disqualification back and forth with the lower courts.

Now that Trump has basically sewn up enough delegates, let's see how he pivots to the general. I would hope everyone can agree that he's his own worst enemy. Can he bring the Nikki voters (anywhere from 25 to 35% in some states) back into the fold and continue to attract disillusioned Dems?

Hillary Clinton says it's time to 'accept the reality' that Biden, 81, is 'old': Former Secretary of State tells voters to ignore Joe's age because saving 'democracy' from Trump is more important

  • Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, 76, said President Joe Biden, 81, and former President Donald Trump, 77, are both 'old'
  • Despite Biden's age, Clinton said voters should still support him, as Trump poses a threat to democracy
  • Her comments come as polls find voters are upset with the ages of both party's presidential frontrunners

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted President Joe Biden, 81, is 'old' Tuesday, adding Americans need to 'accept the reality' of his age and vote for him to save democracy from Donald Trump.

Clinton's jab at Joe's age came during a radio segment with host Zerlina Maxwell.

She told Maxwell about a recent conversation she had about the president's age.

'Somebody the other day said to me … 'Well, but, you know, Joe Biden's old.' I said, 'You know what, Joe Biden is old. Let's go ahead and accept the reality. Joe Biden is old,' Clinton, 76, said.

'So we have a contest between one candidate who's old but who's done an effective job and doesn't threaten our democracy,' she continued. 'And we have another candidate who is old, barely makes sense when he talks, is dangerous, and threatens our democracy.'

She was referring to former President Donald Trump, who is just one year older than her at 77.

When you see a listing of "basic human rights" it is typically the "right to life" that is listed first.

The only thing "smokin'" about this administration is coming from the dumpster fire they've created.

From Axios:

The White House and Biden campaign call this State of the Union Month, and Thursday's speech is being amplified by a $30 million ad buy (including spots during March Madness) and presidential travel to swing states — Pennsylvania Friday, Georgia Saturday.
Why it matters: The campaign wants viewers to keep seeing President Biden as a feisty fighter — "Smokin' Joe Biden," House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries called him Friday — while trying to dent former President Trump's image of strength after repeated triumphs in GOP primaries.

WATCH: Nancy Mace Destroys Sniveling Clinton Crony George Stephanopoulos After He Tries to Shame Her as a Rape Victim for Supporting President Trump

Stephanopoulos then falsely claimed he was not trying to shame Mace for supporting Trump (which she promptly called him out on again) and reposted his false claim that Trump was found liable for rape by a jury.

Mace then demolished him with cold, hard facts. She correctly noted it’s not a criminal court case and that E. Jean Carroll’s jokes about all the products she was going to buy after the $83 million judgment make a mockery out of rape.

Mace again slammed Stephanopoulos for shaming her as a victim of rape because he hated a political choice she was making.

I lived with shame, and you’re asking me a question about my political choices trying to shame me as a rape victim, and I find it disgusting.
And quite frankly, E Jean Carroll’s comments when she did get the judgment joking about what she’s going to buy, it makes it harder for women to come forward when they make a mockery out of rape, when they joke about it.

The Picture That Says Everything About Why the Biden Team Is in Such Chaos

Lauren Kapp, who does TikTok videos for both the Biden campaign and the DNC, posted two pictures side by side on X, with the caption "responding rapidly from Biden HQ." This is quite something.

Kapp limited the replies on her account, which showed she didn't want to hear what people had to say in response. That's not exactly a good way to take the pulse of the electorate. It's dumb because people comment anyway with quote tweets. So it doesn't do much, and it just makes you look cowardly. People certainly had plenty to say about this post.

The first point so many made was how the folks on the right looked just like everyone imagined the Biden HQs rapid response team would look -- like a bunch of NYU theater kids, as one person on X put it.

That explains so much about why we are in the mess we are now. The picture appears to be them checking out the State of the Union and/or its aftermath. What was hilarious was while the talking points on the left are that Biden hit a "home run," none of them look happy at all with what is going on. Kapp also clearly has no idea what that picture looks like. It looks like the picture of the Hillary people who cried in 2016, some on X observed. This is the adults back in charge?

Then the other hilarious thing that people pointed out to the Biden person is that the picture on the right did not show "Biden HQs"; it was the famous picture of Osama bin Laden being taken out in a raid, a raid ordered by Barack Obamawho you can see in the pictureand it was a raid that Biden opposed. So much for "rapid response."

Do his people not even know that? Why would they post that picture, of all pictures, with that caption? They're either clueless or believe everyone else is. And do they really think posting on TikTok is the equivalent of hunting down and killing bin Laden? They needed a "war room" to get Biden through a speech and post on TikTok? These folks have a delusional view of themselves.
