And it layed an egg as well!!

Maybe that is why it escaped...it is a female and it is mating season for them!!!

Maybe in Africa they do the same thing...storm comes, they fly away and go into breeding condition to save the species form the massive floods, etc.

Paso..you saving the eggs?
Not sure if they are fertile or not..but I be the Zoo would like them too.
those birds are expensive!!..$$$$$$$$........

Nice rescue BTW:buddies:

My cousin works at the zoo, I told her about the boards and finding the bird. She is going to look on here and get in touch with the person that found it.

Talked with my Exotic Bird contact.. the word at the Zoo was it was possibly stolen...maybe that is why is looks so sick.....Zoo is not giving out a lot of public info on this bird....
Apprently people will pay bug bucks to have these as "pets".....but know nothing about how to raise and care for them.

Good thing it got away and found Paso!!!:yahoo:

Just a question: How would one steal a bird that big???? It's not like you can sneak it out under your coat.

Do people steal animals from the zoo often?
