Lighthouse Restaurant on Solomons

What is going on at the old Catamarans? Drove by it this weekend and noticed the renovation, but hadn't seen any news about it. I'm sure I'm just out of the loop.

Hopefully something nice goes there. The last few years was rough for them. Between the crappy cooks, crappy waitresses, and rowdy nightlife they had no chance of survival.

Yep..it sure was. I used to know who built it...now I don't remember. I seem to recall it might have been Pepper Langley?...

I think he was involved, not sure. I remember if you set your drink on the aft end a coaster was a good idea, if it got wet it tended to migrate.

The Skipjack Bar at the old Lighthouse Inn was built by
Pepper Langley,
Reds Langley
and Jimmy Langley
to be exact.
It was the real deal, not a facade.
It was constructed as a real skipjack
with the bottom removed !

I knew Pepper was credited for the design and building the bar but it doesn't surprise me other Langleys helped out.

The brass plaque on the wall near the bar credited all
three for the design and construction.

I posted in another thread that someone has applied for a liquor license. I think they are calling it the Striped Rock.

That was a hell of a fire. Watched the smoke from Cedar Point on the base. Lost two good restaurants that day.

The fish implicated is called either a striped bass or a rockfish or just rock.
