The police never searched the area? I'm sure the snake went to the closest bush and hid. The person who opened the bag should know exactly where the snake went.

I wouldn't open the bag, but if I did I'd know it was a non-venomous snake and think it's funny.

It really depends on the size of the bush. Knowing our area the report they received was "it wuz black but they be breedin with the copperheads now."

One could go through drastic measures like hacking up a bush to verify that some bozo is not importing rattlers or king cobras and leaving them in bags, but it's much easier to tell us to not open the bags. It might cause me to lose a million dollars, but I'm not opening any bag that I find!
