Your tires are probably fine as long as they are in good shape. The type of vehicle has a lot to do with it. Camero, Mustang, Z car? Stay home. Any front wheel drive will do fine in most cases. Deep snow on side roads you need 4X4.

First time it snows go find a place without much traffic and see how your vehicle and you handle it. Braking, steering and accelerating should all be done much more gently than normal. Allow more time for pulling out and for stopping.

If you are moving to Town Creek as stated in previous thread and you work locally, you shouldn't have anything to worry about since you will be close and the roads around here seem to be cleared quickly. I have never had a problem with the roads, it is the other drivers you have to worry about
