So sad. Prayers for the family/friends. The rest of you (how, why, etc) need to get a grip.

This is the most horrible thing that can happen to a family.

I agree with Wenchy, there can be nothing worse than loosing a child.
Just the thought that you COULD end up loosing your child is bad enough.

These parents did not even have the time to try and get her help. and I am sure that no matter what the cost, they would have if they would have seen it coming.
Its just not that easy. Kids are really good at covering up problems.

This is every parent's worst nightmare. No matter how she died, it's heartbreaking and my heart goes out to her family and friends.

I'm taking some college classes and a girl in my class wrote a paper about bullying, her best friend was bullied and unfortunately it ended tragically with the girl hanging herself.

I home school my daughter, she's 13 and the kids bullying her were brutal. I just don't understand how some of these kids today can be so horribly mean. It's everywhere and the schools just don't seem to do enough.

I'm so sad for what this family is going through, my prayers go out to them and all of her friends that are missing her terribly.

Bay-Kat,
Kids learn how to be bullies from other kids and at home.
We are an "anxiety ridden" culture and it really does flow downhill.

The old story of Dad coming home, yelling at the wife because dinner is late, the wife yelling at the son for having a dirty room, the son yelling at his brother for being a twit, and the young brother goes and kicks the dog...the dog pees on the mans shoes...and the cycle of anger continues.

The emotional baggage these kids carry today we can only guess at.

I doubt any parent or non parent has real insight to the angst of being a teenage is this so "Social Media" techno age!

I would not even have a clue were to start the healing...it is so sad.

I agree with you.

My daughter is really sweet and wants to get along with everyone, she's a little on the "nerdy" side, she's extremely smart and some kids hate this. I couldn't watch her go through the bullying thing. It was either I would end up in jail or I would home school her. She's in TaeKwoDo and working on her next belt. I'm not doing this so she can kick someone's butt, it's more for social interaction since she's not in school and also for self confidence.

.

don't bet on that, some catch it in time, mostly because the childs friends see it and bring it to the attention of school counselors and the parents.

And social media is harsh, very harsh. I have the advantage of knowing how to hack facebook, Tumblr, Twitter etc.. to find out what I need to know about who I need to know it about.
Lets just say that it has come in handy at times

This is a very sad situation. I do not personally know the family but I do have a 14 year old daughter and could not imagine having to go through this. I was in the ER the night they brought her in and unfortunately it was suicide. No child should ever have to feel so hopeless.

This breaks my heart. I just can't even imagine what the parents are going through.

Maybe the schools try 2 do 2 much 2 protect the kids when the kids shoulbe learning how 2 protect thmesevles.
Very respectful comment. Thank you

the reality is that the schools, the doctors etc.. do too much to keep possible problems from the parents.
To make it simple to understand where I am coming from.

My own daughter was "heavy" most of her life. she was picked on, she never told us.
She was always the happy girl, nothing wrong, nothing bothered her.

then about 8 months ago I noticed that she was loosing too much weight, so I started to watch for things.
turns out (without giving specifics) that she had turned anorexic.
we took her to the doctor, he did the tests, and she was low on every blood count, the we took her to a shrink,, did not work, then we sent her to a facility ( Shepard Pratt) for in patient treatment, followed by another 6 weeks of out treatment...
She is finally back in school, doing well, but we have to keep such a close eye on her that it is actually exhausting.

So, when those of you comment without any experience in this type of thing, understand, until you go through the anorexia, the cutting, the suicide thoughts,, you have no clue what it takes to try to keep up with it.

just saying.
