hey just to update, i recieived a call from some one in the willows run housing development that he woke up at around 2 am to three people looking like teenagers out side on his street (rickys place rd) trying to start an atv with the same description as mine. I walked a trail leading through the woods to where it was seen and saw atv trails leading though the mud, with broken branches and trails in the grass leading right to Rickys place Rd. i hope this helps a little more. Again thats in Willows Run housing development

Maybe you should have taken some of that hard earned money, and bought a dictionary instead of an expensive TOY[/QUOTE

So frustrating. Just asking for some info to the bike's whereabouts, nothing else. Some have called, stating they have seen stuff, thanks.

Hope you get your bike back, Dude. :yay:

It's crappy that someone could just take your stuff because they want it, without any regard for the impact to the lawful owner.

Yeah, he did (not my quad; my buddy's). He said they told him he would have to wait for the officer he spoke with to come back on duty. Each day he's been walking the woods and handing out flyers. He saw the tracks leading from his apt.'s parking lot over to the Rickys Run Rd culdesac and a witness said he saw 3 people (appearing to be teens) at 2 am trying to start it (no key and its not a kick-start) in front of his house on Rickys Run RD in lexington park area. He said they got it started, so they must know how to bypass the ignition (or they just broke the tumbler).

It amazes me that people are more concerned with the reasoning behind this guy's purchases and living situation than helping him find his quad. Who cares why he has an ATV while living in an apartment, it really has nothing to do with his request for help.

Anyway, good luck with getting your quad back. Thieves suck.

It probably has more to do with the fact that he purchased a quad, knowing he had no way to keep it safe while at the apartment, and then complained that his quad was stolen, because it wasnt kept safely.

If your going to put a steak in front of a dog, dont complain that the dog ate your steak.

Nice of you to kick a man while he's down. What, you never had anything stolen?

I'm not bothering to go back and verify (so I may be wrong), but I recall the original posts simply asking for help, not complaining or whining.

reading in context is your friend

have a nice day

Context, hmmm? Well, we have a guy asking for help recovering a stolen item. Then, we have other guys offering "help" via criticism of his choice of housing and hobby. This help is certain to garner productive results, I'm sure.

Finally, we have me deeming that criticism ill-timed at best, completely unnecessary at worst. Have I missed anything?

Oh, and I hope that you are having as nice a day as I am. Kinda slow at work today, which is why I have the time to monkey with all the Debbie Downers that tend to swarm all over somd.com like the proverbial flies on....well I'll just stop there for now.

2008 Kawasaki KFX 450R ... 06-21-2007 01:47 PM Why can't the guy own a bike? Get angry at the right person, you know, the one who STOLE from him?
First off, he doesn't own a bike, he has a toy.
... or HAD a toy
Wasn't angry, just wondered where he kept a 4 wheeler while living in an apartment and mentioned that owning an expensive toy without having a place to keep it wasn't the best choice.

Excuse me, Aps. I don't mean to be rude, but you park your bike in a driveway every day. Do you lock it up? Someone could haul it out of there in a minute.

Yes I do, two locks every night and it's covered

Apparently this is a trend. I just jumped out of my skin at the sound of two State boys pounding on my door. Someone stole a 4 wheeler from someone down the street from me. I was cuddling with my pillow contemplating taking a nap. Now that my kids' nap was interupted, that will not be an option. :frown:
