2008 Mercedes ML350

I just traded in my ML430 last October, I wanted an SUV with a third row! It was expensive to maintain. We paid $1400 just to have the spark plugs changed. Parts and labor on Mercedes are expensive

I've seen that one too, Bob, it certainly is a nice looking truck. Aps, with todays stability systems, you would really have to be deliberately trying to induce a roll to get one to flip. Especially one in this class. Dont let the bodywork fool you, most of the real weight is fairly low. Having autocrossed a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the older Mercedes ESP technology, flipping one of these should be the last concern on anyones mind.

Repete
I would recommend a tough comparison between the new and used price. I've seen this dealer over the last 6 months give some horrendous markdowns on new vehicles:

New Mercedes Benz Car Specials: New car, lease, auto finance specials, Mercedes-Benz of Annapolis Annapolis, Maryland

Mercedes has a huge backlog of new vehicles for sale and I've seen markdowns range from 4k on the base model low-end vehicles up to 20k on mid range vehicles like you are looking at.

With the sales tax credit from the stimulus, the diesel tax credit, and the near zero interest rates from Mercedes, the deals are pretty hot.

Qualified Advanced Lean-Burn Technology Vehicles

I highly recommend their diesels. They're very quiet, don't smoke, and don't smell.

If you visit, talk to Derek Nedd, he will hook you up and treat you like royalty.

MileOne Mercedes-Benz of Annapolis - Mercedes Benz, Service or Auto Body - Dealership Ratings

:yay:

:yeahthat: With the rock bottom interest, in many cases 0% and huge rebates, I would cost the thing out to see if new would not be better than used because I am pretty sure it would be close if not more beneficial to go new.

As far as Mercedes, where is the closest dealership? It would torque me off if I bought a high dollar car and then had to drive $70 miles for a repair even if it was a warranty repair

I want to say I saw/heard that some dealerships are driving to your location to drop off a loaner while taking your vehicle for service. I'm not too sure of the logs, but that would be a sweet deal! :yay:

Annapolis is the closest dealership, but I found a local guy that worked on Mercedes

We'll be needing that information..

She did it.. I REALLY didn't think she would.. and until she signed that VERY last piece of paper I thought she was going to walk away.. but they made us a deal we couldn't refuse.

Now she's a proud new owner of an Obsidian Black ML350.

She let me drive it tonight.. WOW!! Those paddle shifters are the shiznee!!

I did call like you suggested, but the name you gave was busy.

The salesman they gave me to, just kept repeating..

"IF it's not a certified Used Mercedes, you can't get the extended warranty"

and when I told him the deal I got it was..

"Well, I have a 2006, and 2005 certified used that I can match.. " Why would I want to buy a 2 or 3 year older car for the same deal?

Not once did he give me a straight answer on a new lease.. even though I told him payment was key, that if they could match the payment on a new lease..

In the end, I got a 2008 (they have one on their lot for 10k more than what I paid) got a GREAT trade in (twice what CarMax offered) AND an extended 100K warranty.

Cool deal. Glad it worked out very well for you. Enjoy, they're great vehicles!

all are expensive now.
my fuel filter if done at the dealership, just under 200
Oil Change at the dealership right around 100
air filter, around 100
trans filter around 199 (thats the screw on with a flush)

oh well, at least I dont have spark plugs.

If this is at a Mercedes dealer make sure they give you 1.99% interest also. Big special they are running on pre-owned certified cars, which sounds really good to me. I heard that the other night on tv and couldn't believe it, so had to look it up. Wanna buy my highlander?
edit: the 1.99% is only for the C class, the M class is 3.99%.

We took the Mercedes back. We felt like we were deceived/ lied to, and no matter how good a deal it was, they didn't deserve her money.

Soooooooo.. we dropped the Mercedes off tonight, and drove STRAIGHT to the Toyota dealership where BG bought a FULLY loaded 2009 Highlander Limited. The only thing I can tell it doesn't have is the 120v outlet and the rear seat entertainment center..

LOT more room in the back seat for Bubba.. it DOES have the Navigation System as advertised.. back up camera.. power lift gate..

$$$$$, but my lady is SOOOO worth EVERY penny!

Fine by me. I'm all for whatever folks want. All I am pointing out is that I do know the RAV4 to be a very solid, quality vehicle.

If I understood his goal to be the $40 k plus category, I wouldn't have added the RAV4; I'd have suggested looking at Highlander, another great car I personally know.

:buddies:

Well, we took your suggestion and it cost us BIG!!:cds:

So what's the scoop on the deceived, lied to stuff?

It costs more buying new, but I don't care, I never buy used vehicles.
