2010 Camaro

Annapolis Mercedes is the local dealer..

In the past you couldn't buy one off the lot, you could test drive one and order one and they'd call you when it came in.

And the Camaro.. Chevy blew it. They should have hired the Mustang designer, because NOTHING about that car brings back memories of a 60 or 70's Camaro, NOTHING retro, and it's just plain Butt FUGLY..

Another car I don't have to worry about running to the dealer to test drive.

Like I told catittude, judging on the reactions I've gotten from people, there are plenty out there who disagree with you, but hey you're entitled to your opinion. :yay:

And glhs837, I think its really going to depend on how the Camaro sells and how GM does as a whole over the next few years. While there might not be any current plans, there were plans at one point, and I think if this car continues to sell, eventually they will put out a Z-28 model.

Oh, I always looked at best bang for your buck as a overall category not just speed.

Depends, I suppose on your definition of "bang":) Some folks, they get a kick out of a finely chiseled dash, or how it feels when you touch it. Others, they are all about how it feels when you nail the throttle or tuck into a turn. Me, I expect everything to the things I touch, the steering wheel, controls, seat and such, to function properly, and work well. Now, if it does that with a nice feel, that's a bonus, one I'm not willing to pay a large amount for. One reason I like my Charger, I got a lot of Mercedes refinement for relatively little money, since the suspension, electronics, and most of the drivetrain were directly off the last generation E-class.

One of my co-workers drives one of those boats. Way too overpriced. It's the Daytona edition.

Depends on what you pay, I suppose. Sticker? Yeah, too much, if they paid markup, then it even more so. Price out full size cars with about 350hp, they dont come cheap from anyone. The Daytona package itself adds about $1400, for which you get a lot of vinyl, and exclusive paint, and color matched interior bits. Not worth to me, not when you can get the Daytonas extra mechanical (suspension, 10hp bump, slight better exhuast) for that much less. Theres a model equipped just like the Daytona, without all the flash, for $1400 less.

But, if you want a special color, and the knowledge that there are very few cars like yours, they are numbered, after all, you pay extra, thats worth it to some folks. Not me. I'll pay extra for performance, not vinyl. But, dollar for dollar, in the full size class, its still not a bad deal. Overpriced should be judged by competitors, and theres not many in that class, really.

I think his was 40k. Please tell that was marked up. I agree with you I would have gotten a lesser of a car. But for 40K I would have taken a G35.

Which model year? If you dont know that, what color is it? That tells the year, since each years Daytona colors are unique. Options? Not many to get on a Daytona, they do come fairly well loaded. If its an 06, then 40 would be marked up. A 2009, however, if you get every possible option, can be stickered at 40K.

Now, a G37 (no G35 this year) optioned similarly, will be right in that same 40K price range. A little less power, somewhere in the 30-40hp range. One thing to remember, though, is that the G37 is a midsize, not a large car. The M45 is really the Chargers competitor in size. And that sucker will cost you considerably more, like 10K more.

I think it was the initial year. I wouldn't get a M45 though. I like to think sports cars as coupes. Damn, the rally world. LOL

Ah, in 2006, they were I think 32-33K, 36K loaded, so yeah, they paid a huge markup. Colors were Top Banana, and GoMango. I know theres two TBs around here, one only a little ways down the road from me:)

Sports cars? Nah, most owners, even of the SRT-8s, dont view these beasts as sports cars. High performance? Sure, depending on the individuals outlook, of course. But not a sports car. Modern muscle car is maybe the best term for them.

Nah, the TorReds were inded a 2006, I had forgotten that. They popped out 2,000 of them right before the switchover to the 2007 models. Then TorRed became a 2007 production color, which seems to be a bit of a rip to me, since part of the point of them was the heritage colors only available on the Daytonas.

For the folks who care about such things, its important, I guess:) You pay for a little exclusivity, you should get it. I'm glad they didnt paly that numbered car thing with the SRTs, dealers were stupid enough with the markups. I will give Dodge this though, there were a few dealers who tried to make their own Daytonas, and Dodge smacked them around and made them stop.

Of course, if you do want a numbered SRT, you can get a SuperBee. No faster than a normal SRT, just flashier.
