Call Taylor Gas if you're comparison shopping. I couldn't believe how much more United Propane was charging us. And their customer service is amazing. I'll look at our last delivery ticket when I get up for pricing.

I called around for propane delivery without a contract/regular delivery service for my personally owned underground tank about a month ago. Suburban was cheaper at 2.99/gal than Taylor, Burch, SMO, or United (United being ridiculously higher). Needless to say, Suburban got my business.

i'll have to call them. i used to use them for regular delivery a few years ago until they ripped me off. maybe they have changed their ways.

taylor gas is $2.95

They definitely have great prices. They haven't been up in our area for a really long time, they were mostly in SMC and southern Calvert. They're a great local business trying to grow. Our driver is so nice. When we very first switched over to them, my husband had just had surgery. Every time we get a delivery, Chuck asks how he's doing and asks about our son too. Little things like that just make me even more happy to have left United Propane. The owner even fought with UP on our behalf because we wanted to buy our tank from UP so we could leave them.

Is that for regular service, or a one-time fill? If I remember correctly Taylor quoted me $3.14 a month ago. I suppose the market can fluctuate as quickly as gas does, but you wouldn't think the price would actually go down as the weather turns colder.

And, since I used Suburban, how did they rip you off previously if you don't mind my asking?

i had automatic delivery. after the first year they changed my price. raised it to close to $6 per gallon. I didn't notice it for the first couple months because i tend to just pay bills without really looking at them. Then one month i didnt use the fireplace much because it was pretty warm, and i got the bill and it was still close to $200, so i looked into it and realized what they were charging.

Propane grades.

Not many people realize that there are different grades of propane, the lower grade can screw up your equipment and emit an odor sometimes, the lower grade has what the industry calls "heavy ends". This is less refined. Just saying.
