Is there such a thing as an experienced driver?
Yes, those of us that have thousands of miles behind the wheel in all kinds of weather conditions, have taken advanced driving courses and have already wrecked our share of cars.

It's official. Saint Mary's Today online has the story entitled Another Untalented Teen Driver Causes yada yada yada. Haven't read it yet but boy is that guy bitter or what? It was probably was an inexperienced driver at age 17 but does he ever give anyone a break?

No. He has an axe to grind and a forum to grind it on.

He's just going to pi$$ off the wrong person someday and then be held to that individuals wrath by way of his comments.

I'm all for reporting the news and at times (most of it, anyways) it may not be what is the best in the hearts or actions of folks in the world, but this guy takes the cake.

His opinionated sensationalism and "unbiased objectivity" is in order to make what appears to be a gross lack of something in his life seem more bearable on a day to day basis. This is evident. I know that what he does write about is based upon facts as a foundation to a story, but his talents at journalism (reporting objectively without being involved themselves) reflect his true nature.

My prayers to whoever was involved in the accident (right or wrong, failure to yeild, blah, blah, blah) and to the ones that are close to those hurt or killed on a very difficult day in their lives. :poorbaby:

Latest info. The mother is a teacher at Ridge, she has some facial injuries, the 15 was uninjured, but starting throwing up this afternoon and has gone to the hospital, the 17 year old driver is intensive care and is holding her own at the moment.

thanks Dixie. I hope all come through this okay. There is NO way that driver could have stopped. The skid marks are very short and straight. Most kids have an accident in their first year of driving, but it is usually a fender bender.

Any updates on the girl, her mom, and the brother?

Been looking, haven't seen or heard anything about them or the driver of the truck. I'll ask my mother, she knows everything (she's also probably reading this....brownie points????)

3rd period again, we were told that the 17 yr old is responding to treatment and has a broken hip/pelvis bone, not sure which. I've heard some talk about possible brain damage, but not sure what to believe with those rumors.

Thanks for the update kak. It sounds like some of those that have commented here (i.e. passing along what they've been told in school) may be friends of the driver of the vehicle. I read back over some of the posts and I know it got a little harsh. I sincerely hope your friend recovers and will be as intelligent and bright as she is described. I don't know how the accident happened and I don't know where you can driving experience except on the road with other scary drivers. First thank God that no one died and please if you're young and inexperienced look, look, and look again. Don't give Ken fodder for his rantings. Peace.
