They announced it in the high school this morning.
Why would they want privacy about a car accident?
If it were my loved ones, I wouldn't want names all over a message board.

But what about close friends and family that haven't been notified yet? The reason names are withheld is to give time for proper notification so some significant person in their life can hear of it through proper channels rather than on a message board.

seeing how it happened before 8am this morning- and it is now 1:15- i'm pretty sure they got in touch with the "siginificant person" before the forums did...

You mean the accident in Hollyood? If so, I don't recall if their names were out in a matter of hours or not.

As Kwillia stated, give some time to notify family and loved ones before the general public.

If they announced it in the high school during 3rd period- what's the problem mentioning it here. I don't understand the issue.
It's not like anyone is being accused of anything that hasn't been "proven."
It was just stated that 2 local teenagers were in a car accident.
I just don't see the problem.

I don't think they would have announced it in the high school if it was a "privacy" issue.

You have no way of knowing whether they did or not..Just delete the names, it does no good to have them listed here at this point in time.

:yeahthat: The news may not have spread to best friends or cousins or godparents. This is no way to find out.

I wasn't in 3rd period and still have not heard anything about the accident, other than what has been posted here. If I were a family member, who was unreachable and this is how I recieved the bad news, I'd be pretty upset.

My "daughter" does know her and is friend's with her- so when all of the "teenage" kids at school heard the announcement about their friends- was THAT a "bad way" to hear about it?
It's an accident- and from what we've heard everyone survived so far... I could understand if there was a fatality, but from what's been posted...they are in the hospital. If a family hasn't been reached yet- I would think they would want to find out as soon as possible whether it's on a message board or a phone call from the police.

Then why don't you post your full name and share a personal tragedy with the rest of the class.
