What has he done for this community?

It's questionable that I am the first person you asked a follow up question to. How come you didn't ask anyone else why Lollar has courage? I won't entertain your silly little debate though. Vote for whom you like, while me and the 900,000 democrats in Prince Georges County Vote for Congressman Hoyer.

Have a nice night.

To say Charles Lollar has courage is an opinion, based on conversations or impressions. But you say Steny has done things for the community, that would be fact-based and demonstrable, don't you agree?

I don't support Hoyer because I think he's gone Washington since becoming HML and cares more about the Democratic party and being powerful than he does for the people who voted him into office. He no longer represents us, nor does he appear to even give two craps about us.

But I can also point out things he has done in the past that benefited the community. I'll give him credit for keeping Pax open, and bringing people and business here through BRAC. And he's brought home the bacon with regard to funneling federal money down here. And, honestly, it's pretty cool that our guy from li'l ol' SoMD is the second most powerful House member.

So by refusing to discuss why you support Hoyer, that tells me that you don't really know why - you're just yellow dogging it. And by calling the discussion a "silly little debate", well, you're in good company because Steny doesn't like to debate or discuss or explain his positions either.

Exactly. They vote for Hoyer because they've always voted for him and no other reason. Hoyer may have been for the people at one time, but he no longer votes or works for the good of the people who voted for him. His vote for the stimulus package proved it. And he stood right up on TV and said so. He knew better than all the people that didn't want the stimulus.

Lollar was a Marine officer, Stenny has done nothing but represent the democratic party's views TO southern MD.
You must be a racist

You shouldn't. Even though he claims it around election time, he has had nothing to do with it.

As for the rest, he doesn't do anymore for SoMD than any other politician would do. Actually, he probably does less.

The man's held office since before I was born. It would be wonderful to get the dinosaur out of office and make him live under some of the laws he's helped to pass.

People keep forgetting, our senators and congressmen were never supposed to be full-time jobs. These people need to be replaced, like towels. A fresh one is needed.

The OP obviously has an agenda. He didn't reply to anyone's post until he found someone in opposition to his position, then he replied looking for an argument. I'm not willing to bite. He wants to argue, let him argue with himself.

SaM-The OP asked who I supported and why. I stated some facts and gave an opinion. You were asked to clarify your position, at which you immediately grew defensive vice engaging in discussion. You call it arguing, I call it debate. Point and Counterpoint, if you will.

Please, I'd like one democrat, socialist, or libertarian or whatever provide a fact or genuine (as in personal) opinion. OpEd pieces from websites don't count.

:BTW - Lollar has done at least 2 tours in Afganistan as a grunt - I think that demonstrates courage:

OP is probably a Lollar supporter, and therefore understands why others would support Lollar. By asking you what things Steny has done for the community, maybe he/she is just trying to become an informed voter and genuinely wants to know.

I would be interested in hearing why someone supports Hoyer. Maybe give me something new to think about with regard to his representation.

I fail to see from his question why you think he's looking for a fight. Looks like a simple question to me.
