 Cari, no offense to you, but I had seen the excerpts of the interview on different channels.

The Washington Times and USA Today also ran stories on it, plus the Lucianne Goldberg website had an editorial on it.

Yet because I did not mention these things, our friend assumed I had not seen or read anything about it, and decided to post ideas to that end, and, that I had no business commenting on it.

That's just a bit naive, don't you think?

I watched none of it. I was out getting a jump start on my new found alchoholism. Warming up for tonight if you will.

I can't wait. My friend Jess (not "C") will be going with us. What time sounds good to you? I was thinking 9.

Or maybe they ran the show so that CBS could receive a higher rating than the other networks. So, liberals like Saddam Hussein? Is CNN, MSNBC, and FNC running coverage of Hussein's statements also a liberal bias?
 Dems, I do not blame Dan Rather for trying to get that interview with Saddam Insane, but, we are perhaps days from going to war with this nation.

Some are going to say this was a poor time to pick for the event, others will say - Hey, it's news baby!

I was chagrined at CBS' demand that the White House send somebody from the top 3 or 4 echelons from the administration.

To me, this smacks of a "set-up" in the first degree. A cheap attempt by CBS to put one of these folks "on trial" for all America to see.

At this point in time, the scheme of things, I'm not sure this is appropriate.

Good Point Kyle. Dan Rather does make a point to state that Iraq would not allow them to bring in their own cameras and that they took the video and returned with it an hour after the interview ended.

He was definitely insinuateing that the interview had been edited.

Who knows??

Boycotting the program unfortunately deprived you of greater insight into a world leader. Considering that each citizen is contributing $320 each to kill this guy (if the $90 billion estimate is accurate) then at least you would have greater insight into the mind of an obvious madman.

I believe the insight of him was worth the while. I heard what he himself had to say and in what manner without any outside spin.

My conclusion is that $320 is money well spent.

I'd even stroke a check just for the warchest if that were possible. As I said before - just looking at my watch, waiting...

The camera angle appears to have had Rather at 6 o'clock around a round table, and Hussein at 12 o'clock. The interpreters were at 8 and 10 o'clock. Saddam kept looking off to his left, away from everyone as he was answering Rather's question. I wonder what was over there that he kept looking at. (Maybe a clock?)

Still, that shiftiness made an impression too!

Maybe he had onions at dinner? He was just trying to be polite.

I'm sure he had some baking to do, then a cosmetics cooking class for one of his many b*tches to help with their pimples, and finally a trip to JC Penney of Iraq. (Did I miss any of SmallT's fetishes?)

He didn't want to be late!

I wouldn't call those fetishes... If you really want to hear about my fetishes, just ask

They dont have JC Penney stores. They have JC Hussein. Just Cancelled Hussein. I hear they have dictator posters on final clearance.

 No, but he does seem to be a bit "crocked", or is it cracked, at times! (J/K)
