Still off the air... :tap:
Heard awesome Frank the news guy on 102.? (whatever it is) the country station saying they got hit by lightning at the station in Mechanicsville. Guess 102 is the only station back up. It's the best 97.7 has sounded for weeks.

they are probably selling it and turning it into an Arabic station

That could be it. Or maybe Hispanic, since 92.7 went to Dan Snyder's Red Zebra Broadcasting.

Before putting my Scorpions cd in this morning they had something on...it was a commercial.

You might have heard 97.7 the station out of Delaware. I listened to a block of commercials, until they started playing a Jewel song. I simply figured that their journey to the Dark Side was complete. I came back a few minutes later, and heard the DJ's talking. And then they identified the station as 97.7 W-Something or other out of Delware.

Thank goodness that came through on my alarm clock today

I called 97.7 today and it did get hit by lightning, they told me that they are trying to get every thing back up and running as fast as possible.

I want my radio station back :larry: :jameo:

About 3 weeks ago I would have cared if the station got blown up by lightning.

This week, however, the only thing I feel is surprise that their suckage didn't simply absorb the lightning.

When I was down the other weekend I tuned in to 97.7 or whatever The Rocket is. I didn't think it was bad at all - the songs they played were fine with me

You must have lucked out - because I haven't heard squat in weeks.

And I'm not just being a cynical or contrary asswipe. I WANT to like the station. I WANT to say that the station rules. When they became the "New Rock Alternative", I was all gung-ho for it! I was even on board when they switched from that to "Southern Maryland's Rock Station", although some of the steam was let out of my sails when the started playing ZZ-Top and Judas Priest at least 3 times per hour. But at least they still threw a bunch of Rage Against the Machine, NIN, Blink 182, FingerEleven, and Live, and all those guys, so I was happy.

But somewhere along the line - I pinpoint it to be around 3 weekends ago - the bottom dropped out, and since that time, I've only heard a grand total of about 7 songs that I've liked on that station.

Now granted, I don't listen to the radio all day long - mostly just to and from work (two hours a day), but before, I wouldn't hear a song that I DIDN'T like. Now I won't hear one that I do, 4 times out of 5.

But, easy come easy go, I guess.

Thanks for posting the info about the current outage. I was a bit worried...I really like the format they're playing. I finally can listen to a station that doesn't fade in and out constantly. And...they seem to keep the commercials to a decent level compared to other stations. I was hoping they just didn't "pull the plug" permanently on the new station. Can't wait for it to back.

:larry: The Toxick song :larry:

I'm gonna cry me a river of toxic poison
Cry me a river, then jump on in
Cry me a river I'm always complainin"
So I'm gonna cry me a river of toxic poison.
It's too hot , it's too cold
She's too young, she's too old
Nothing perfect, not even that pink dish
For some strange reason, it smells like fish
Sooooooooooo...
I'm gonna cry me a river of toxic poison
Cry me a river, then jump on in
Cry me a river I'm always complainin"
So I'm gonna cry me a river of toxic poison.

Don't know that one - who sings it?

I like Crazytown's Toxic:

Catch a fire, Fire it up
Corrupt stirring it up
It's buring hot, drifting
Hitting every slot
With a drop kick,

it's toxic
Trouble, like your girl in a mosh pit
I've lost it
And that the only way that we rock ####
Banging heads and ripping threads
If i wasn't rocking shows
I'd be better of dead

With a one two
One word can destroy your whole crew
And that's toxic

Toxic, loud and abnoxious
Crazy Town's toxic
With that, rock your block ####
Toxic, popping more lip
We love to talk ####
Rocking you block with that
stright out the block ####
Toxic

A budda, blastic
Blacklisted, twisted of faith
My vocal's fatal
As naughty block concotions
Rock you're cradel
I thought I wait 'til The timing was right
To ignite
Cause people like me
we only come out at night
I rock the main line
And party with fine #####es
Which is a dirty job
But somebody's got to do it

So, who the crew with?
More has than vivid
Lyrics explicit
So #### the crities
We leave them hanging
like INXS.

Toxic, loud and abnoxious
Crazy Town's toxic
With that, rock your block ####
Toxic, popping more lip
We love to talk ####
Rocking you block with that
stright out the block ####
Toxic

Toxic threasholds of
Colomibian gold
You can't roll how we roll
We possess you soul
And push the panic

Is it godly or satanic?
Toxic or organic?
Manic minds refind or frantic
Just the way we planned it

See, we be stomping around The planet
And we stand alone
We inflitrate your chromosomes
No clone
Our DNA has got a strain
Of it's own And it's Toxic

Toxic, loud and obnoxious
Crazy Town's toxic
With that, rock your block ####
Toxic, popping more lip
We love to talk ####
Rocking you block with that
stright out the block ####
Toxic

97.7 has added some classic rock to their line-up :jameo: I don't think they know which direction to take the station.

Noooooo!!

I was loving to hear The Police on the radio.. The programming around here sucks!!

And what is with 98.3. First they are playing 80's 90's today, which mostly was alright stuff, then they are playing backstreet boys???? :jameo:
