ummmm all cars run on air (and fuel)

Some country down in South America created one fueled all by compressed air. The cars are way to ugly to catch on in the U.S. though. Good concept...history channel has ran the special about it a few times last month. Problem: no profits in it for the large oil companies, it won't be coming to us any time soon.

Large oil companies? How about the government? The state and federal governments in this country make more off a gallon of gas than the oil companies.

They can't tax air? Watch them.

I just need it to get me, myself and I to work, which is currently a 3 mile tour. I have a large aircompressor at home, as many people do. Even if our gubment makes the automaker install a specially engineered, and EPA approved unobtainium fitting, It won't be long before adapters are made available.

I want one and I don't care how ugly it is.

It still takes power to compress the air, and almost all of that power comes from coal or oil. This is a "feel good" solution that does nothing to reduces emissions, it just moves them from the roads to the power plants.

Now if we had enough nuke plants to provide the clean power, this might be one of the viable solutions.

You'd need large very high pressure tanks to have any range at all and they'd be potential rockets in the event of an accident.

Yup if it can get me the 30 miles to work and back running on air I don't care what it looks like.

I was reading an article about this in Reader's Digest. The car they were featuring seats 5 and can go 500 miles on one fill up and was made in france. It takes 4 hours to fill up per tank though :faint: That's alot of compressed air

The video said it only takes a minute or so to fill the tank.

I don't have sound here. I just checked the article as the Reader's Digest is in the kitchen here at work and I am correct that's what it said  It looked more like a minivan than a car though  How many miles can your's go before refilling the tank? Maybe its the difference in tank size between the two
