A house without a dog

:yahoo: Congrats to Tucker for finding you! He is adorable. I know what you mean about having a dog in the home. It took awhile for me to adopt again after my girl made the trip over the Rainbow Bridge. Since I had her for 18 years it wasnt easy to find another one. But, finally, Captn. Morgan decided she wanted to adopt my hubby and me for her new human family members. We still talk about our "Babygirl" and how much we miss her, but, the Captn. fills the empty spot in the heart and home we had. And good on you for going to the humane society, too many sweeties out there needing homes.

ACD, you said it was too soon, but if you think about it..your Stylist was busy for a reason, and that's because Snoopy knew that Tucker needed you, and you needed Tucker! Congratulations. He is adorable, he looks like my grand dog. Chi mix? By the way, I got my Meat Ball 6 days after Molly crossed over, and we've had NO regrets.

What is the breed? Toy fox terrier? Looks like some chihuahau mixed in or even rat terrier.

So far as we know, he's chihuahua; he was surrendered and that's what the owner said he was - but you never know with a dog from the pound. He's 7lbs; 2 years old.

He rarely barks, and takes a little time to warm up to men; doesn't like it when I pick things up with my right hand. He's very social and loves shopping; he was so much fun when we went to Petsmart to pick up some goodies, he had to say hello to all of the other dogs. He's obviously been loved; he is sitting on my lap right now and that's fairly normal for him. I'd love to find some agility course for him; he's so funny to watch when he's running.

I have never been a fan of chihuahuas, but now I'd like another. Downside - he's every bit as stinky as my rat terrier was. Whew.

Had two rat terriers. Both gone now. Won't get another dog until I retire and can spend time training it. Probably get two more rat terriers.

Probably my favorite breed! They really are the best dogs on earth - funny, loving, ferocious, portable little dogs. I don't like the Decker rats; seems he is trying to invent another dog, and if that's what he wants, fine - but don't call them Rat Terriers. Rat terriers have been the dog of choice in my family since the 30's. I should see if I can dig up the picture I have of the rattie my dad grew up with, named Minute. My dad spoke lovingly of that dog all of his life.

Boston Terriers have been in our family since the early 30's too. I have the picture of the very first one. His name was Flash. I just love the breed. I've never been around a Rat Terrier, but would assme they are a lot like Bostons personality wise.

Best little burglar alarms around. Anything moved outside the house, those two would start barking and go to where the noise was. Normal house noises, people getting up in the middle of the night, they would ignore. Someone jiggled a door knob and they would tear out of their beds and be barking at the door. And I didn't have a mole problem with them around either. :banghead:
