A walk in the woods...

I came home from work and took my dog for a walk in the woods. It was incredibly peaceful and relaxing.

I took time to notice the beautiful wild violets blooming in all their miniature glory in vibrant shades of white, pink, and deep purple. The wild blueberry bushes are dripping with white flowers that in a few months will be the most incredible tasting berries.

Tiny frogs abound everywhere and skitter frantically out of the way. Birds were chirping and fluttering in every direction as they frantically gather nesting materials. Deer tracks are everywhere, silent testimony to their nocturnal wanderings. My dog goes crazy with the overload of scents and sights.

I just smile at the beauty of it all. Ahhh...

We played outside until well after 8. All three pups are sacked out. Since we fenced the yard, nobody makes it much past 9 anymore.

It was. It made me remember what I work so hard for and that life is much more than that computer screen at work.
Funny, must have been a day for pondering. I was standing on the hill in the back yard with the dogs and I could see the Bay..I was thinking to myself...this is why to drive to DC every day.

My dog got stung on the butt by a bee yesterday, and now he doesn't want to go outside unless he's right by my side. :ohwell:

Exactly. :huggy:

It definitely has been a period of reflection for me lately. I've learned I've lost myself along the way and need to find out who jazz is again. I've really missed her.

How many ticks have you found yet?
I carried brush out to the pile on the back of my lot and came in. I was sitting down and felt something crawling on me, it was a tick. Got him before he got me though.
