Has anyone heard any chatter about road closures on 301. A co-worker's wife just called to tell him 301 at 234 will be shut down in both directions for several hours due to a bad accident at the intersection.

thanks for the info - we are leaving for Williamsburg soon, guess we'll take rt. 5 to 301.

honestly, I feel like I'm playing russian roulette everytime I get on the road around here. I do my best to be a safe driver - but that only accounts for so much when you have to watch out for other impatient, crazy drivers.

Ya know, you are much more likely to be in an accident caused by someone who fails to yield than someone going fast. So, dont pull out in front of highway traffic, and if you are the highway traffic, be ready for them to pull out in front of you, and you will be safe from the main cause of multicar crashes around here.

5 to 301 will still intersect with 234 (on 301)

With the road being closed for some time, your best bet is 5N to 495 Beltway South (towards richmond) and then 95 S (towards Richmond).

Accident is in the Northbound lanes. Not sure how much of the Southbound Lanes are impacted. They didnt shut traffic down going south for the Helocopter, so I believe traffic is moving.

Lookie Lou's will eff up the traffic on the southbound side.

Do NOT go up to the beltway and take 95S unless you are planning on hitting 95S no earlier than 8:00PM. You are better off taking Rt 6 to 301 and heading south, even with the Lookie Lou idiots slowing down in front of you.
