I keep Boy doped up. Every morning I give him 2 or 3 pills. I have no idea what they are because I buy them off the street. I have noticed the yellow ones make him hyper and the white ones with a line on both sides make him too sleepy. The pinks and the whites with a line on one side seem to work pretty good. Sometimes when I don't want to be bothered, like every weekend I give him 2 of the whites with 2 lines and he doesn't bother me at all. He sometimes can't wake up and pizzes himself but hey, whatevers best for him. :yay:

If a kid can talk on the phone for an hour, play a video game all afternoon, read a book for entertainment, etc; that child is not ADHD. I don't care what the doc's say. They have their collective heads firmly wedged up the pharmacueticals azzes.

Okay - so what does it mean if your child doesn't have the attention span to do any of these?

My oldest son was diagnosed in the 4th grade as having ADD (not ADHD) and he is not on medication (my choice). Recently, I began to suspect that there are some blood sugar issues and I have put him on a strict diet and it has helped him focus better. We will have additional testing this week.

The school wanted my youngest tested and I found out he wasn't sitting still in class because he couldn't see. :jameo:

I do applaud you for having your oldest son at least tested some parents won't even do that and that you made the choice that was best for you. We tried the diet that removes all dyes, etc and that helped somewhat, the whole family did it and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. We also had his eyes tested because I thought that might be his problem, but eyesight was perfect. That's why we kept proceeding with testing.

I think it's all b.s. It was never an issue when I was growing up and we were "sent out to play." We swam, we rode bikes, we came home and did our homework. We had moms at home (at least I did) that didn't work, that made sure we were fed properly (we only got fast food on Sundays after church). I really think it's the society we live in now.

Except Larry. I think he's just messed up. :lmao:

No, and I've said it before. There is no doubt in my mind that a lot of kids are on ADHD meds because the schools/teachers tell the parents the kid is ADHD. Gurls 3rd grade teacher tried to pigeon hole her as ADHD. The teacher was challenged by a bright student that finished her work then had nothing to do while she waited for the rest of the class to catch up. I pizzed off the teacher and staff, but too f'n bad.

Now I CANNOT believe you would ever pizz off anyone, it can't be true

Em had a teacher who tried that, too, because Em wasn't interested in her classwork - she was interested in chatting with her friends. Today, without drug intervention, she is a fine student :yay:
My son's kindergarden teacher tried to convince me mine was ADHD because he wanted to go play in the play area rather than pay attention to her doing ABCs and 123s. I told her he was just fine because when it came to things he was interested in he could sit at attention for hours on end.

She was the same teacher that called me the 2nd week of kindergarden to tell me he wasn't "prepared" for kindergarden because he didn't have full control of his scissors during cutting assignments. I told her that the last time I recalled him using scissors prior to school starting was when I found him under the dining room table cutting up a $2,500 check my husband had brought home from a side job. I said I fully expected him to catch up to little Johnny and Little Suzy in no time. Call me in a month if there was still a problem.

Big difference between a kid wanting to play and a kid that just can not sit still for anything, concentrate and do school work..Amoung other things.

IMO
