You tellin' me I bought a used dipstick at a new retail price? Great.

camily said:Try some lube. Lube always works.
cattitude said:See...that's just the thing. I prefer the self-lubing. When they don't self lube anymore, they are broken and you just chuck 'em.
I agree, self lubing dipsticks are the best! The problem lies in finding the right size. Nothing worse than finding out the dipstick is the wrong size after you've vested time and money in it.cattitude said:See...that's just the thing. I prefer the self-lubing. I put mine in the rear window for everyone to see.ememdee19 said:So you don't save them for a collection? They would probably display well in a nice curio cabinet.

ememdee19 said:I've recently noticed a high-pitched winding noise in the front end of my car. Would any of you car savvy peeps know what could be causing the noise? I plan on taking it in for a physical once Christmas is over, but I'd like to have an idea as to what the problem is first (so I can pretend I know what I'm talking about).
TIA and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Also does it only do it on start up, only while moving, or all the time while running, is it worse at times, if so when and what are you doing, anything like that makes it easier to figure it out.
