Does “accepting” gays mean we have to pay them to mock our religion?​

Twenty-six years ago, a young man named Matthew Shepard was beaten and strung up on a Wyoming barbed wire fence to die. The beating and murder were because Shepard was gay.

The perps were quickly found, tried for murder, convicted, and sentenced to prison. They’re still there.

It was a good news story about bad news and was widely reported. But it wasn’t true.

It has since been shown that Shepard and one of the perps were in the drug business together. Shepard was due to receive a $10,000 shipment of meth. The perp himself was gay and had been in a gay relationship with Shepard.

So, it wasn’t a hate crime by a straight Wyoming redneck against an innocent 21-year-old gay guy. It was a drug deal gone bad between two gay lovers.

But never mind that. Gay advocates seized on Shepard’s death as evidence of hatred in the heartland toward gays. His death spurred new federal hate crime laws, where criminally attacking someone becomes even more criminal if the someone is gay. (A friend in the law professor business is fond of saying that it’s impossible to commit just one federal crime.)

🔥🔥 ABC News ran a story yesterday headlined, “High Court judge in the UK upholds the government ban on puberty blockers.”

Last year, Britain’s Health Secretary placed an emergency ban on puberty blockers, and the National Health Service accordingly stopped prescribing the hormones for minors, causing many to go into testosterone withdrawals.

Inevitably, bizarre litigation ensued, as parents who wanted to mutilate their own children challenged the blocker ban.

Yesterday, High Court Justice Beverley Lang upheld the blocker ban, citing “very substantial risks and very narrow benefits.” She also opined that gender care is an area of “remarkably weak evidence” and young people have been caught up in a “stormy social discourse.”

Just when you least expected it, in the most unlikely place, we see signs of life in Great Britain. More progress.

A volleyball player left partially paralyzed by a transgender opponent has slammed the Olympics over its boxing controversy.
Payton McNabb was 17 when a ball spiked by a trans opponent with force struck her in the face, threw her to the ground and shut off her consciousness.
The 5ft 11in trans player cackled in delight, Ms McNabb said, after sending her to the floor. As did other players in the opposite team.
Ms McNabb was left with brain damage and paralysis on her right side, which ended her dreams of getting a volleyball college scholarship and has made it difficult to walk without falling.
She told DailyMail.com it was 'disgusting' that two boxers who failed gender tests had been cleared to fight women at this year's Games in Paris.
