DOES ANY ONE KNOW OF A GOOD COMPANY FOR AIR CONDITIONERS?

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 1800 SQ FT. HOUSE AND COME TO FIND OUT THAT THE SYSTEM FOR OUR HOUSE IS FOR AN 1100 SQ FT HOUSE. :burning:

I AM ALSO WONDERING IF I SHOULD GET A WHOLE NEW SYSTEM OR ANOTHER SMALLER SYSTEM PUT IN.

ANY INPUT WOULD BE HELPFUL :banana:

I AM A GIRL :lmao: SO I AM NOT 100% SURE. I KNOW THAT HANCOCK ORIGINALLY DID THE ONE IN THERE NOW. IS THERE A DIFFERENCE? HOW WOULD I BE ABLE TO KNOW THAT? THE UNIT IS OUTSIDE IF THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

I COMPLAINED TO THE REALTOR THAT IT WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND HE SENT SOMEONE (A PERSONAL FRIEND OF HIS) TO TAKE A LOOK AND HE IS THE ONE THAT TOLD ME IT IS TOO SMALL FOR OUR HOUSE.

The easy way is...does your unit provide you with heat and AC? If it does than it's a heat pump. Very inefficient, but very common in Maryland. Then have newer energy efficient Heat Pumps. I have a heat pump unit which provides heat for the upstairs and down stairs, but on the AC side it doesn't put out enough AC for the upstairs. I had to put in a separate AC unit just to cover the upstairs and then you'd better make sure your electrical is upgraded enough to handle it. I had to spend more and have a new electrical panel installed. I am now house poor. :lmao:

calm down... i will stop in all caps... i am at work and type in all caps here

thanks for the info... i now know i have a heat pump. and now i am learning that it sucks :shocking:

if i set the thermostat on 70 the house never gets colder than say 75 (that is what the thermostat shows)

i called hancock to come take a look but i am a little leary of having them look at it seeing as they did the original system. but i guess they put in the system the customers want and the previous owners must have been cheap... or cold blooded :razz:

Yes, heat pumps suck. If it's not cooling properly in AC, it probably needs freon service. For heat? It sucks. I have a fireplace with a pellet stove installed. My heat pump hardly kicks ON in the winter.
