Air travel crybabies

So I had to fly from Arizona to DC last month. When setting up the flight.... a plane change along the way saved me a ton of bucks.... I stopped in Indianapolis on the way to DC and I stopped in Milwaukee on the way back..... I flew Southwest. When I got home I heard a lot of flights had been cancelled..... I had no clue.... mine went great..... well almost perfect.....

I wonder why it is.... the snacks have garlic pita chips in them.... garlic on a plane.... I guess that's one way to get the passengers to social distance.... ha ha

I was in a hurry packing when I was on my way back.... and I shoved my walking stick and a bottle of hot sauce in my carryon..... which caused my big scare......

See... the hot sauce was a little bottle of "TICE" hotsauce.... it was something my husband won... and I found it in the cabinet my last night there.... so I figured I'd bring it back.....

The walking stick was one of those retractable sticks that I would use if I went anywhere.... since I only have one eye and use the stick to keep me walking in a straight path..... anyway.... rather than carry it.... I shoved it in my carryon.....

Security stopped me over the little bottle of hotsauce and the walking stick.... I guess they figured I planned to take over the plane by throwing hot sauce in the eyes and then wacking them over the head with my stick.... ah ha ha.....

My trip was almost excellent.... but the garlic, the hot sauce, and the walking stick.... well they were the only nudges I had to deal with....

Maybe the problem is.... you're booking with the wrong airlines..... or you shouldn't be flying anyway..... lol....

You should try flying with aircraft parts that have wires sticking out of them.
Back in the mid 80s when I was a gummint "rocket scientist" I used to routinely fly around the country with significant quantities of solid rocket propellant in my brief case..that being little different back then to plastic explosive as far as formulation, look and feel. Like play dough sorta. It was my job to certify the ballistic and physical properties of the stuff made by various production facilities around the country to make sure it was all up to spec. It simply made my job easier to collect all the samples I needed and transport them myself.

No airplanes were ever blowed up, or I wouldn't be telling this story. For those of you who routinely took flights during that time frame...bwa ha haaa....

I have a c pap for sleep apnea. Comes in its own case. I can fly in & out of Baltimore with no issues. Then only Atlanta I have to take it out of the bag and all apart. One time I got stopped over some peanut M&M's that had come out of the open bag. Talk about searching a bag.

That's the only one I'm aware of.

I was unaware that you have to fly over and drive a ship back to the US. But even THEN you have choices.

I just get tired of people saying they have no choice when they do in fact have multiple choices. Air travel is simply the one they chose, and they should STFU about it and stop their whining.

I thought I was clear. Let me know if I need to be clearer.

Now perhaps you understand that no one is losing their jobs because they are refusing a vaccine. They are voluntarily choosing to leave their jobs.

See? You DO understand voluntary choices.

I understood them before, Dorkus. My initial suggestion, if you care to recall, was everyone should quit (which a lot of people did do) and let the business owner eat THEIR choices (which they did and now they're whining that they can't get anyone to work). In fact my exact words were: "They can't fire everyone."

I had this boss one time who, in lieu of a Christmas bonus, gave us all a note letting us know that our jobs were a privilege, not a right, and more along that same vein of how disposable we were. Not long after that I started Somd.com, the other sales rep moved on, and a couple other people took off, and about a year later they closed up shop. There's a moral in there somewhere.

Choices.

But I don't really care about people's choices, I just don't want to listen to them bitch and whine about it.

Back then, A few friends I grew up with were/are salesman for Colt, HK, FN Herstal then USA, CZ.
Carried ammunition, transferables and sales samples carry on a few days a week.

I don't fly very often, but one problem I see is a lot of people have the time to take a train, BUT the train is double what the flight is and if you want a sleeper double that again and then you have to buy 3 meals for however many days it takes. I know I would take the train if I could afford it.

So lets consider the passenger ferry in Roatan that we need to service and repair soon. Explain exactly how I get there without taking an airplane.

Or the ships we're building in Norway. How do I get there and back?

I'll wait.

My cousin and her 3 kids are supposed to fly over from Denmark on July 2nd. Her airlines are now about to go on strike the 29th of June. Non-refundable tickets. It's put a monkey wrench in the rest of our travel plans.

Vrai can list some alternative means of getting here from there. Just ask her.
