Magnum said:There is an American Mastiff, however is not AKC recognized. They are registered with CKC. They are much larger than the Bull Mastiff, they have less problems and longer lifespans

Magnum said:From what I have read about the American Mastiff they get over 200 pounds and the leg and hip problems are not as common

No dear. I was thinking American Bulldog but researched just as you did and found the same website you did. I guess I didn't read it correctly because I ddin't see anything about a mix, just that they aren't recognized by the ACK. There are other breeds out there as well that aren't.pixiegirl said:Were you talking bout the ones that look like English Mastiffs without the drool? I just thought about those too and remembered that they were also called American Mastiffs. We just may be talking two different dogs with the same name.
