And, for the record, she didn't "screw up again" Some azz hacked the infamously insecure T-mobile/Danger servers.

She did nothing to deserve this.

:duh:

She may be a vapid, priveledged, sponge upon the Earth with no redeeming qualities. But nobody DESERVES to have their data raped.

:yeahthat: And is it also rape if she grabs you by the pecker and forces herself on you?

Paris Hilton will do anything for attention. Whenever her name gets bumped from the headlines, she comes up with some huge trauma to get her mug right back out there. I don't believe for one minute that her cellphone crap was stolen - I'll bet you cash money that she did it herself for the publicity.

And that quote from that unnamed "top star"? Pure bullsh!t. Everyone stores phone numbers in their cellphone.

Where's the outrage from their non-celebrity customers that got hacked? Or did it only happen to poor little unlucky Paris.

I find it hard for anyone to give a rat's azz who's numbers that ding-bat has stored in her cell.

Well, the last guy that hacked T-mobile's Sidecrap accounts just plead guity in federal court.

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/02/17/t-mobile_hacker_pleads_guilty/

The details are being kept quiet because he inadvertently hacked into the account of an FBI agent and was caught trying to sell his details in a forum.

There was a great deal of outrage in the computer security industry, of which I'm a part.

Just because Miss Hilton has breasts and was caught having sex on video does not mean she's any less deserving of being protected by the companies that we all trust to secure our data.

Yes, this is very real. Your data is NOT safe if you depend on your phone companies and service providers (hotmail, MSN, Yahoo, Gmail, etc) to protect your data. People need to take control of their own security. But we also need to have companies take better care of the stuff we do entrust to them.

Well, I know she taped it on purpose. I don't believe she released it herself. I still believe it was her Ex. Though she went along with it. And the SECOND tape was also "leaked" purpose.

This still doesn't detract from the fact this is a serious security issue.

I guess I shouldn't expect non-security minded people to understand that.

Yay! My very own red karma.

Unsigned and no text even.

Oh well. *sighs* You can't save the Internet, I suppose.

But she certainly gave her permission or else it wouldn't be on video shelves, available for purchase. It's against the law to use someone's likeness for commercial purposes without their consent.

Don't believe me? Make a t-shirt with Brad Pitt's face on it and start selling them on the streets of DC. See how fast they come shut you down.

Like I said, she went along with it.

It was already out there. There was no point in pretending it didn't exist.

At least she didn't pull a Joanie Lauer and record a tape for the explicit purpose of releasing it commercially.

But that's all beside the point of the hack.
