It happens, jarheads automatically get a Navy Achievement medal, it means nothing anymore. In my day 2 were authorized per command a year.
Look at any kid nowadays, after a 4 month med cruise he looks like the United nations.......... participation medals even if they didn't participate.

I knew an AF nurse in Vietnam who had one. No "V" device...which is now a "C" for combat now, I think. I don't think she ever left Ton Son Nhut. Maybe she got it for fending off the brothers.

Yeah, they used to give those out pretty regularly, but there was a plain jane BS and one with the Valor device. Now it's like everyone is on Oprah. "You get a personal device! And you get a personal device! Look under your seats! Everybody gets a personal device!"

Nope...but when they cheat like hell, Kamala wins the Election, & JD Vance is the VERY FIRST ONE to endorse it and 90% of the Republicans fall in lockstep....THAT will rain our parade...

My friend told me he was with his protectee in the Green Zone when I truck loaded with explosives tried to penetrate the perimeter. They weren't near the location of the blast, but he got the award.
