I find this argument fascinating and bizarre, on one hand it was just a cold, no big deal….but all international travel should have been shut down.
I'm not sure what you are getting at. Trump did the right thing initially. At the start of the COVID scare, it was known that it started in China and the best way to spread it to the US was through international travel. Every nation was doing the same. Over time it became apparent that COVID was nothing more than a variation strain of a coronavirus flu. It presented a particular danger to elderly people and those with health conditions, but it was not the pandemic scare that could wipe out 25% of the population indiscriminately as was first thought.
And also don't forget that the vaccine was developed by companies under the direction of Trump, and fast tracked by the Trump administration relaxing normal FDA rules. It's actually one of the things I don't understand about the far right. They are absolutely opposed to the vaccine. Yet it was the Trump admin that brought the vaccine to the public in record time. It is an accomplishment that Trump did. And yet most of the far right is anti-vax. That part I don't understand.
