When I first got my dog (4 years ago) he was 6 weeks old. I bought him in Oklahoma and needed to get him back to MD. I looked into the prices to fly him in the cabin with me back then - I was getting quoted anywhere from $80 to $130 bucks... and he was TINY. Im sure prices have gone up since then. Just FYI.

My suggestion - take some Benedryl before your flight and sleep the whole time. No sneezing and/or being bored to the point of reading SkyMall :yay:

I was flying home from Cali one year and a guy in the next row had a gym bag on the floor in front of him. During the flight, out from the bag pops this little furry head. He had a Pekingese or some small dog like that.....didn't cause any problems. He (the dog) only barked a couple times when strangers saw him and tried to pet him. No big deal.....

Most of the carriers for in cabin look like gym bags. Most of the time people and crew do not even know I have a pet. However, when my husband flew to Milwakee, WI with one dog the flight out wasn't busy and the stewardesses were loving all over her. On the way back it was crowded, so she stayed under the sit the whole time and no one knew. Different things happen on all flights. The only thing that bothers me is I have to pay to take the pet on and then I can't take on a carryon only a small personal item. So I pay for my carryon! However, I perfer if possible they get to fly with us and not cargo. My dogs fly more then I do. I have a boy that has been coast to coast and a few placed inbetween all for differnt dogs shows. He even flew to Westminster this year.

Sure! Animals on planes - they've allowed the two-legged variety ever since the beginning. A fare is a fare, and no fair to anybody.
