It was a joke. You know, I've had a change of heart, maybe you are worthy of karma.

"Fill your hands you SOB!
Daughter told me last night that for 2 days now they have been stacked up in the bus. Placed my call in to transportation - not holding my breath waiting for a call-back from the voice-mail I left.

Cracks my arse that the article in today's Emptyprize sezs that everything went smooth with the buses this year...guess you report it goes smooth when you only get one side of the story!!! Maybe the Emptyprize needs to read this forum for the REAL scoop!!!

Does'nt that mean that each contractor sets up the routes and handles how and if dry runs are made before school starts? I'm a retired bus driver from a public county and they worked much smoother.Wonder if there is someone in charge at the county level of how bus routes are set up?
There are something like 200 private contractors, not just one or two. Someone at the county level has the job of setting up routes and assigning them to the individual buses.

In Charles County, there is one contractor that runs the school buses for the whole county. They've done it for 30 or 40 years. I don't know who sets up the routes, the county or the contractor, but whoever it is, is much better at the job, then whoever does it in St. Mary's.

Thanks for the info. I was so curious about the car seat question, that I called someone at Cal. school Bd. I'll post what they have to say. If the bus routes are really a mess, maybe some phone calls to some one in charge can make a change. At the job I retired from, I can tell you that A driver would have been fired for leaving a child at an address not authorized and with no-one to meet him. Pre-K and K.

I was told the same thing by a St. Mary's bus driver once. Kindergarten or younger, they must see a responsible adult before leaving the child.

Since the Transportation office never responded to my message i left 5 days ago,i'm calling next Tuesday morning and this time I ain't gonna be so nice. The bus that didn't pick the high school kids up the first day of school has since been picking them up,but not until 7:40 a.m.Does she not know that school starts at 7:45 a.m.??????????????These kids have been late for school for a week now?Isn't anyone at the high school aware of this?????And my son informs me that she was talking on her cell phone the entire bus route this morning!Totally, totally unacceptable. And this time i will not "leave a message and someone will get back to me".........I will make contact with a human voice, even if I have to go to the office in person. It just irks me that they are so unprofessional.

I know this is the 30th but My daughter has been late to school every morning ! It is getting very frustrating! Her teacher also said something to the office, the conseler in school called the students down to the office and asked them about it.. I was like what does that do? My daughter misses time to do her morning work because her bus is late!
I have called and complained but I GOT NOWHERE.. Has anyone else heard anything from their calls?
I cannot believe that this is still a problem after how many weeks now???
