Any Good Pediatrician?

Hi there,
I'm currently using a pediatrician that everyone raved about when I had my daughter. We met with him prior to having her and he was totally cool with us seperating her vaccines so she wasn't getting 4/5 shots per visit. Well once I had her, everything was different. Everytime I went in his office and said I only wanted to do 2 shots they give me a lecture, not to mention his staff isn't the best. I really want to find a pediatrician that will work with us and who really "gives a damn" about the child and is not always worried about the insurance reinbursement. My daughter is almost a year old and I do not want to give the MMR shot until she is ready to go to school, but I know my current Doc will pitch a fit....

Anyone know of a good pediatrician in the area that really cares and is willing to work with the parents in regards to the shots?

Thank you

St. Mary's, Calvert or lower Charles county....I'm willing to drive, I just want someone good.

It might help to say who your using now so people don't recommend the same doctor. I LOVE LOVE Dr. Sheth but absolutely HATE his money hungry cheating the insurance companies out of money wife. I switched too.

I am using Dr. Khepal. I've had a personality clash with her once that I originally blamed on her but I've now come to realize that it was me just being a biatch. I like her and have used her for all 3 of my kids.

Yes, sometimes there can be a wait. But, I find their experience and knowledge to be worth the wait everytime. We've been with them for over 10 years and my daughter has had the best care.

That is who we just left! Were with them for the first year and a half for my son but just got sick of the waiting times, totally ridiculous.[/QUOTE]

Dr. Fahmi is wonderful. He is located in the Bean building.

Now that I will have to disagree with. He was awful. His office was ridiculous. We never waited less than an hour to get in. It was overpacked each time we went. My sick son waited damn near 2 hours to get in once. I asked and asked to please just take his temperature because he was burning up. They insisted that I waited for the doctor. We FINALLY got back to the room and within 5 minutes we were sent to the ER because his temp was 103 or 104.

That is interesting.... I have never had any problem with waiting and he has always been thorough... funny how people have different experiences.

I guess so. Everyone I've ever talked to about him said the same thing about the wait time.

Bayshore Pediatrics

We see Dr. Singh with Bayshore Pediatrics. We really like him and all the doctors in the practice. The wait times are never more than 15 minutes. They just moved into a brand new office in the new building next to Calvert Memorial Hospital. It's very nice. Also, since you asked about immunizations, when I took my daughter in for her physical earlier this month, she was due for 4 shots. He said he thought that was too much for one visit and that we could do 2 that day and then 2 the next time, to spread it out. Now, she is older (11), but I know they have always been very caring about my kids are always up on the latest information and research.

We go to Dr. Dhillion. While the wait can be long during peak cold/flu season, he is very good and I have never had trouble contacting him (even at home once with my little one) or talking with him on vaccinations. I have a staggered schedule for my kids (though I feel vaccines are very important) and Dr Dhillion has been great! I have heard that Dr Sheth is not so forgiving in terms of vaccine schedule, but you may want to call his office for confirmation.

Another doctor that I had issues with. Kept us coming back every day even though antibiotics take atleast 24 hours to kick in. Tested for strep no matter what my son was being seen for. Also had billing issues there. It took a year to get his office to finally stop sending me bills for visits that were paid for.
