Lusby Hardware got 196 shovels in today.... they sold out in about 20 minutes....

The scene was on the scale of the original cabbage patch doll mob....:coffee:

Wouldn't you think that people should have shovels by now? Surely not everyone in the tri-county area is new to the area or even new to snow...or winter...I went through hell to try and get one the last couple snow storms. I finally managed to get 2 last week after multiple trips to every store I could think of. I didn't realize it would be such a fiasco to get a shovel in winter.

It is so strange...

Just because they have shovels doesn't mean they don't need to buy more. I need to replace my 13+ year old snow shovel. It's one of the traditional metal flat bladed shovels. Blade is bent and I have to lay it face down and stomp on the back of the blade to straighten it every couple minutes.

You're a LOON :)
Ace in Lusby is suppose to get a shipment in today. I can't believe all the drama over shovels

I know a guy that bought all that they had a few days before the last snow and then he turned around and sold them.

Had a plastic bladed snow shovel and it worked great for 10 years, it split in half finally on Tuesday so i will be in the market for a new one once the supply and demand issue slows down. Using an old bent up metal one now but it still works.

I have the right 'kind' of shovel, but it's plastic.. when i did this for a living we all had HEAVY metal shovels. Pain in the butt to throw snow with, but it could scrape a sidewalk and push the snow like a snowplow on a tractor.
