Sorry can't help you with the insurance thingy. Hubby and I officially hate pine trees also. Those big tall worthless scrub pines that fall at "oh so the wrong time". Like last night... across the driveway. Then the one that was leaning against three strong sapplings (thank God for those) so precariously over our vehicles. I really liked snow when I was a kid..not a care in the world but now:cds:

Not to mention in the summer the sappy crap that gets on cars or when the pine needles hit the ground they're such a mess, thank goodness no pine trees in my area!!!

They are weak in ice and snow, but they are worth a lot of money....

If that's true, I'm a potential millionaire. I've got a yard FULL of the damn things. (15) to be precise; and they haven't fallen; thank God.

You know what I wish I knew of, is a company that wouldn't necessarily pay me for the trees; but who would cut them down and haul them off, just for the lumber alone. I have wished for that; and a tree-free yard for years.

That and lumber is about all they are good for. If you were around way back when the ice storm hit Maryland, this place looked like a disaster zone. If you had a pine tree in your yard, it was probably laying on your house, someone else's or in the road, etc. Great time to pick up free firewood because even the hardwoods were on the ground. Ice storm took out power lines all over the place. Average time without power was around a week, some folks were out longer. Pine trees suck.

A dyslexic with a bad attitude. :yay:

What's wrong with taking a saw to your trees? Too close to the house for comfort or critical areas restrictions?

Well, every one of the fifteen trees is 30'+- tall. It would be nice to be able to fell them but that isn't possible. (houses etc.) So....the only option would be to climb to the top with a chainsaw and work down. I'm here to tell you, homeboy ain't climbin' no trees that high, with or without a chainsaw; and hiring somebody to cut them down would cost me my left *** and front seat in H*ll. So, when icy or snowy weather hits around here, I kinda walk around looking up and hoping for the best.
