So that when you are talking about the Patuxent River, you don't refer to it as the Pax River.....
Yeah, "Pax River" is the Naval station, not the actual river.

Over and over and over till my ears bled. I had to turn it off yesterday or whatever day it was this week.

Why the hell would you say "Bye" I thought I was a member of this community?? :howdy:

That's what I was wondering...

Anyway - good show this morning.
You got any They Might Be Giants?

"Locals" are not one cohesive group with the same likes and dislikes. And you're not going to appeal to everyone anyway, so I wouldn't even worry about it a whole lot.

:yeahthat:

Even T-Bone and Heather were severely disliked, or some liked only T-bone, or some liked only Heather. I liked them both, mostly because they would banter back and forth about local issues, or the latest topics in the forefront of everyone's minds.

I have to admit I haven't listened a whole lot to the Boomer and Dawn show, and it's just because it's so hard to change the station off of 97.7. It wakes me up in the morning. :yay:

I heard you begging for calls this a.m.
Boomer, you know what you should do that would be fun? Since you're obviously not from the area, you should invite listeners to call and correct your regional mistakes or just clue you in ones you may not be aware of.

Instead of pretending to *be* a local, let the real locals show you the way. People like to be on the radio and they like to be experts - this invites your listeners to do both.

Just a thought.

But at the same time, no matter where someone lives there are things that appeal to everyone....
But we are trying to appeal to the "locals"...but they're hard to win over....

Not all of us.

Some of us are quietly digging the new format on both stations. Don't sweat it.

I like the music on both. I generally change the channel when talking starts and switch back when I think the talking is over. That applies to almost all the radio stations though, unless there's something big on the news that they're discussing.

Good idea, Vrai. Then we could correct him and make fun, not that any of us would make fun of the mis-pronounced word.

And Boomer, the Potomac River is called the Potomac River so please don't shorten up to the Pot. TIA :huggy:

Has anyone ever noticed how much Dawn sounds like Heather??? Like they could be siblings! I like the show, but it's still getting it's feet off the ground. Just needs time to get settled and learn the 'lingo'. It needs some contriversal topics to get ppl to call in and debate them. I very much like the new format, other than all the madonna songs. I had enough of them the first time around back in the 80's and 90's. :jameo:

Dude, that's a good idea.
:yeahthat: Personally, I would like to hear more conversation in the morning. I like music and all, but a good laugh on the way to work would be great. Research local events and community happenings and let us know what is going on and where. If there is a big news story, keep us updated & possibly give us details or invite people to call in with similar stories. The way the show is set up now is very boring and monotone. Of course that is just my opinion and I'm just offering suggestions.

So it would be more entertaining to you if we just read off comunity events all morning?

We invite people to call in EVERY time we talk.

We can't make the news.
Yes, I would like to hear about community events, concerts, poker runs, celebrations, etc. Living in southern Maryland, I like to know about things that go on. If I hear something that interests me, I'll investigate it further.

You guys are generally pretty harsh.

Are you saying that there isn't a single thing we've done yet that's entertaining or funny?
And yet, you are inviting us to call? :lmao:

I haven't laughed once.

WE are the community and WE are the people who listen to your morning show and radio station. We're offering suggestions - all of us. The station's ratings probably went down when Heather & T left. All we're doing is trying to help you get to the top. :yay:

I laughed when you kept calling the river Pax River.

I think you should call them every morning, Chasey... please make it between 7 and 7:20 as that is my morning commute time and the only chance I'd have to listen...TIA

In my opinion, I think you guys are trying too hard to be like T-Bone and Heather--just because people miss them. It's annoying.

I love 97.7 and Moondog.
