Mr. Bennett on St. Andrews Church road...has a guy who does old guns very knowledgeable and resonable

If you think they may be valuable, have them appraised before you have them "redone". Messing with original patina can destroy any collector value. Just an FYI.

With the rapid deterioration of social order and the Wilding/Flash Mob phenomenon moving into Southern Maryland, I wouldn't be surprised that a lot of those personal weapons that got lost in that massive, serial boating accident are now being cleaned up and the rust removed.

No need to do that. All of my guns were in zip lock bags when my boat sank. Cleanup should be a breeze.

Might want to think twice about making them look new, especially if you intend for them to stay in the family a long time. Replacing or fixing broken or worn out parts is one thing, but I wouldn't do anything comestic unless it was absolutely necessary. JMHO

Do you plan on shooting them or just keeping them a s a show piece?

If you plan on using them you are probably better off taking them in and getting them cleaned up and running properly. There is nothing worse than having a home protection gun not fire when you need it.

The barrels and the mechanics of the guns are fine, just want them re blued and the wood on the stocks redone.
