Anyone know this person?

Nope. Crazy people are usually constantly up at odd hours. I bet she smokes a crapload of ciggys as well. Another sign.

You know she is lurking and watching this thread and taking notes for another meltdown in the wee hours of the night, when there are only a few people on line.

Can we take a second away from the snark fight to appreciate that tilted knew who it was immediately. I can barely digest his normal postings..and he posts a TI vid. :lmao:

 In my former life I was a deejay and club owner and, let me just tell it like it was, I was a roving bad-ass-party epicenter.

...and this does?

So you have no issue with a random person going into your mailbox to "spread the word". Like I said earlier, put it behind the flag, or slip it in the newspaper slot.

In my defense I work odd hours. Also in my defense I believe I am a somewhat sane person, even I do go to bed at 5AM and wake back up at 10AM.

I thought she was leaving the site, wonder if her and JPC have met.

Jeebus, Marie...what the hell!? Someone doesn't agree with you and suddenly they need to sober up!? Have you lost your damn mind!? How about coming down off your high horse.

For the record, I agree with your point of view on the mailbox tampering, which means I don't agree with Tiger's. That being said, I understand her perspective, and certainly subscribe to the "pick-you-battles" thing. The older I get, the more selective I am.

the reason I side with you (and mamatutu) in the argument is that whole familiarity thing. The more people mess with your mailbox, the more people are inclined to do so. It loses that ethereal quality that says "hands off!"

Again: just because I agree with your argument in no way nullifies hers. We all have to agree to disagree, because clearly none of us is going to shout "Eureka! You're right!" But that ad hominem in post #32 was simply uncalled for. You owe tigerlily an apology.

I have debates and conversations with people who disagree with me on a daily basis. I don't have an issue with disagreement at all, in fact it is quite often a good thing. I will however point out when someone gets over the top with rhetoric and clearly sounds like they are on a bender. I doubt I was the only one who thought her reaction to my logical post (and yes, I get mail containing sensitive information, not to mention at least one pre-approved credit card offer on a daily basis) My mom was lucky enough to have someone sign her up for a credit card. Thankfully she had the same mailman as the person who signed her up for that card with a "new" address

My mailman is a random person that deals with my mail every day. Postal workers are random. UPS/FedEx workers are random. What makes this any different? Because they are selling a rap mixtape?

We know nothing about the person who put the paper there. Was it a 19 year old aspiring rapper, or a 12 year old? Did they know it's illegal to do so? Like what was mentioned earlier, would you be this upset if it were a missing dog flyer? Missing child flyer? Or do you just like this thing?

Sure whomever did it could have done it another way. Put it by the flag, tape it to your mailbox post, or simply walk up to you while you're shopping and ask you to buy it. It's happened to me...

I think if someone if this upset about a "random" person opening your mailbox, they should get a box at the post office.

I'm sorry, but I don't see why it's such a big deal.

I don't like people messing with my mail box. I have a locking one because when I was 19 someone stole my identity. I've also had packages and Christmas cards go missing.

So I should have an added monthly expense? Would you have an issue with someone placing something under the wiper blade of your car? What about placing a business card in your wife or GF purse while she is shopping?

You are correct it is not a huge deal, it could be some young kid who does not know better. My original post was simple, does anyone know who the person is (turned out to be TI), and to stay out of my mailbox. Simple.

IMO the over reaction wasn't from you, it was other posts. All the hoopla about a federal offense, being violated, etc. were over the top to me. Sure it's a federal offense as it is if your mailbox is destroyed by a bat or whatever. But if it's such a heinous crime, why isn't the county government responsible when they mow it down with a snow plow? I don't know how many times I had to replace mine because it was destroyed by a county snow plow.

The suggestion wasnt really directed at you. It's directed at those that are paranoid that someone will steal their mail or open up credit cards in their name because they can't find the time to read the opt out message at the bottom of every pre-screened credit card offer.

I don't have a problem with the wiper blade thing assuming my car is in a public space. Hell, I've put my car into car shows, and those people put upcoming show flyers in your car, detailing company cards, etc.

I do, however, have a problem with someone slipping a card in my significant other's purse/bag/suitcase. That's their personal space and should not be violated by someone looking to drop off a business card.

Did the paper have a number on it? If so, give them a call and ask them to stay the #### away from your mailbox.

I would like to give a different perspective on this. As a business owner, I try to follow the rules. One of the rules is that only postal employees/contractors are allowed to place articles of mail in or on your mailbox, so I pay the money to the USPS to get my advertisements into peoples mailboxes. When I find a flyer in or on my mailbox that has not gone through proper channels, I do report it. This person/organization/company that has not payed the USPS has a perceived advantage over me and I don't like that. I don't care if it's a lost puppy flyer, teenager looking to cut grass, or a shingle company wanting to redo my roof - I report them. If not reported, where does it stop? There would be lots of people creating delivery businesses to deliver fliers to mail boxes at a cheaper cost than the PO. Would you like 3 or 4 people opening your mailbox every day?

If you have a locking mailbox, how do they put the mail in? Lol. You must live in a community with mass mailboxes all in one spot.

Very unusual, I have never seen anything like that. Does your post office have a key to acess the inside and put small packages in? Or is it designed for like the ones at the post office that you pen that top part and slide the mail and then tip the door closed?

I am just curious as to how you were even able to hear me at all? As I clearly recall I was typing, reading and responding. You made an assumption that clearly backfired and you don't even have the decency to say that you made an inappropriate comment. I was very clear that I had no issue and it was quite fine with me that we did not agree. Taking into consideration that you were up as well and participating in the thread, should I have suggested that you also sober up as you must have clearly on a bender too? One last point, you were even so confident in your incorrect assumption that you even alluded that there must be many others that deem your posting skills as so much more clear, educated and logical than mine, yet no where have I seen anyone back you up on that.

Before I go, I would like to give you the opportunity to receive the credit you must feel is due to you. Take a moment or two and raise your right hand off the keyboard and hold and stretch that arm out and all the way up above your head, as if you are reaching for the sky. Next casually bend your arm at the elbow allowing your forearm and hand to gently fall behind your head. Next place your hand at the top of your back. This last part is the important one, give yourself a few good pats on the back and spend as much time as you need to validate yourself for being an arrogant biatch. Have a great night. :coffee:
