They're having their Senate Debate Series and this morning they have Cardin and Steele. If you missed it, MSNBC.com will have the netcast up at 1pm EST at mtp.msnbc.com and it airs on MSNBC on cable tonight at 6 and 10.

Russert was just slapping Cardin around.

Worrisome was the poll shown at start, Cardin ahead, was tied.
Steele held his own and didn't let Cardin off the hook for his previous votes regarding Iraq.
It will be interesting.

I know many of you probably watched this thing but here is a short excert to show Cardin's lack of resolve and expert ability to flip in the shortest period of time:

Russert: You now say pull the troops out in ‘07 whether there’s a stable Iraq or not.

Cardin: No, what I said was we need to start bringing our troops home, yes.

Russert: From the Baltimore Sun... "'Cardin said he’d be willing to vote to cut off funding for the war. ‘If Democrats could present it in the right way, I would clearly support it.’” You would vote to cut off funding for our troops while the war’s going on?

Cardin: No. I will never support turning our backs on our troops.

Russert: But do you stand by your comment, you would consider cutting off funding?

Cardin: There’s a lot of different options that Congress can consider, including contingencies of funds.

Russert: But you would consider cutter off — cutting off funding for the war.

Cardin: I would consider using the appropriation process, I will not support putting our troops at risk.

Just a short example of the wishy-washy, none answering, none committing Cardin. The entire interview went this way. Although Steele proposed a 6 month plan to get out of Iraq that I question, he overwhelmed Cardin point by point. I certainly hope a lot of MDers got to watch this one.

I see little doubt that Steele is head and shoulders above Cardin , when it comes to intelligence. However ,remember, Democrats dont mind voting for idiots and even seem to prefer them ,because they will do as they are told by party leadership. I believe after this program it is easy to see why Cardin backed out of the NAACP debate in Waldorf. Why take a beating un necessarily?

Southern Maryland is filled with Yellow Dog democrats who would vote for" Old Yeller"
if he were running as a Democrat. But, Times they are a-changing.

And the Republicans voted for George W. Bush... How are the Democrats idiots when the Republicans elected a guy who can't read, write or speak?

Is that the best argument you can put out. "(Bush)... can't read, write or speak"? I know, it's okay. You folks on the left really have no real or new ideas so you are left with pathetic personal attacks, devoid of any real substance.

Okay, how about this:

Democrats who keep insisting that George Bush can neither read, write nor speak are idiots.

The typical GOP talking point is "Democrats havern't offered any solutions on Iraq."

Well, in fact, they have. I do believe the "timetable" strategy was the Democrats' idea.
