The merge at the bridge will be a nightmare. People down here don't understand "zipper merge". I can see more road rage incidents.
View attachment 108146 Yes, there is a shopping center in the works. FDR will be extended across 4 towards Wildewood and will tie into 235 north of the 4/235 intersection at the Wildewood condos turn in. FDR will actually tie into the back of the parking area where the condos are. Entrance to the shopping center will be via that FDR extension. Currently a grocery store and pharmacy will anchor the shopping center, with a bank and restaurant plus a few retail store tossed in...
Thanks. Was there any mention of a timeline?I got the info and pic from an email. The email was the result of land being sold for FDR and part of the shopping complex.
As far as the pic and how things are oriented, the bottom right corner where you see a little bit of road is 235. The left side of the pic is rt 4, and the top of the pic is FDR extension.
. I think that is true as CVS seems to be set in Hollywood.
Any comments/reviews on the newly opened merge lane from rt. 235 onto rt. 4 north?
People here don't know how to merge. They are still blocking the intersection as everyone tries to get into the left lane, while there's almost a mile of right lane open. Works great for people like me who understand that it's okay to use that lane up to the merge.
Just image what a mile long zipper merge could accomplish. Not as much as an automated ejection system that used a giant paddle to flip you off the bridge if you dropped below 45mph......... but still.
If everyone used the lanes as they were designed and intended then there would be no benefit to those travelling over the bridge. The only thing it would do is move some of the traffic off of 235 and free it up for those not going over the bridge.

Well, given traffic coming east from Rt 4 and traffic turning east from NB235, that is two different directions, and now they have two lanes to zipper with.
