Appliance repair

Does anyone know of someone who repairs refrigerators here in Southern Maryland. I've called everyone in the book. Either no answer, no return message, or no longer in business. Even Lowes cannot provide a name??

what's wrong with it? how old is it? is it worth getting fixed? why not get a new one because if it's not under warranty you'll probaly pay for a service charge as well as the repair

We had Sanders Appliance Service come and fix ours. 301-994-1466. A lot of repair places are out on the job. We had the same problem with an HVAC repair person b/c he was always in the field. Sanders came out quickly and fixed our problem. He had to replace a motor or something. Problem has not occurred again.

If you have to replace the compressor? Forget it. More cost effective to buy a new frig.

It's not cooling below the recommended 38 degrees. I can trick it by turning it off for a while and back on. But this is only going to work so long. It's only about 5 years old. I'll probably try to give this guy Saunders a call. I ahte to spend another $1,000 on a frig.

We just had our ice maker repaired by AA Dependable out of Waldorf. 301-884-5070. Very nice to work with and called 1/2 hour prior to arrival so I could leave work to meet him. I live in Mechanicsville so am probably in your area.

Tracy's Appliance in Prince Frederick fixed ours recently. We live in Mechanicsville, but they were who Whirlpool sent to us. Our compressor went bad, but we were still under warranty so didn't have to pay anything.

Frigidaire DW and Fridge-ugh. Repair?

I guess having the service people come out is worth a shot, but since this is now appliance number 2 that is only 6 years old..and not working correctly....from this same manufacturer....just not sure if it's worth the effort.

Used AA Dependable on the DW, then contacted Electrolux/Frigidaire as the DW part was a potential fire hazard, so we got some money back. Did my research. :) Now the Fridge won't cool to the right temp. Lost over $200 worth of food as it just "went" all at once. No ice...just water and lots of mess to discover in the back of the freezer.

Just contacted the Corp office,as I did last time, but I'm not counting on much.

Customer service said AA Dependable is not on the list anymore. Are they still in business? New name? They gave me Tracy's and Apple...Thanks!

I had a stove repaired by AA Appliance and was totally ripped off, overcharged on time, labor, and parts. It would have been cheaper to buy a new stove. They quoted me about $200, was charged almost $600.00. Wrote a letter to the owner and never got a response. If they are now out of business I completely understand. If they are in business stay completely away from that company. I had good results with Sanders in the past, so any future problems with my appliances, I'll be calling them.

Aps advice is spot on. Before you hand over a pile of dead presidents, try cleaning the coils. If its only cooling to 38 degrees, the system is essentialy working. If the coils are dirty and cant transfer the heat to the air , then it wont cool as well...

Hopefully it's NOT in a garage. If its in a hot room, it will NOT cool.

I learned this the hard way, but, I got a new refrigerator out of it!

Sears?

I've always used Sears. They work on any brand. I'd give them a call. I've never been disappointed by them.

Okay, pulling an old thread out of the cobwebs... We bought a new Frigidaire Gallery convection oven in February and on 4/18, I baked a cake, then cooked dinner. When we got up Thursday for work, Hubby asked me if I realized I left the oven on all night. Uh, no, I didn't!! Low and behold, it was hot. No idiot lights on to tell you the oven was on. So, we shut the breaker off and went to work.

Got home yesterday, flipped the breaker back on, set the clock on the stove, and went outside to do some watering. Came back and checked on in a hour or so later, still cool. Great!! It reset itself!!! Cooked dinner (using the oven) and waited a couple of hours for it to cool off, then went and checked. Yep, still hot! No indicator lights on to let me know the oven was on. And, I know I turned it off. Called today and was given Tracy's and Apple Appliance to call.

First, does anyone know what might be up with the oven? At first, I though I had accidentally hit the timer to stay on for an extended time, but I don't think that's it now. Second, what experience have you guys had with these two companies? They are the "official" repair companies in our area for Frigidaire. Thanks!!
