The L.L. Bean vest my parents gave me for Christmas last year is on the shelf in the closet, still in the box. A couple years ago they bought me one of those L.L. Bean or Eddie Bauer polarfleece 1/2 zip jackets for christmas. In the closet, never been worn.
Can you say... regift?

Nah. I'll eventually lose enough weight to fit in it and then I can use it when I go hunting. It may fit me now, I just hate the color. It's not like there is an L.L. Bean around here for me to exchange it either.

The way I look at it...

If you're the wife... and you aren't available either because for some reason the hubby is on travel, or because you're sick, or because you just don't want to that night (men don't understand that)... would you rather have your man tear one off on his own or go out and pick up a hooker on Great Mills?

Bottom line is... if the SO ain't available... for whatever reason... then going solo is what ya gotta do.
TMI there Sleuth, TMI. We know your SO lives in Indiana, so your post is DEFINATELY TMI!!!!!!!!

Yep. Got a *few* of those (as gifts). Unless it's cold in the house and I need some more warmth, I can't think of a normal time I'd ever wear one of those - they look terrible, and they're impractical as outerwear.

Best time to find all those old gifts is movin' day - because you forgot you ever got them. It's *RARE* that a gift is a really good one.

The blue knit cap I got last year was great. My oldest picked it out at the sale at school. Not that I really needed it, but it was nice anyway. I like what all the kids got me this year, and the box of chocolates from the wife was great (knew I was going on a diet after the new year, so it was a nice treat to splurge beforehand). The leaf blower from the inlaws was a great gift. When proper thought (what do/do not I wear, what do I need) is put into a gift, I usually end up liking it.

:yeahthat: If there is something I need, want, like, misplaced, or think looks cool, even if I will never, ever use it, I buy it then, I don't wait 6 months for Christmas to come around so someone can get it for me for a gift.

Don't even try to get on my good side on this one. We got a basement full of crap you never use, including a table saw that I forgot I bought you.

No wonder no one ever knows what to buy you, you've gone and bought it all for yourself already and even built a big-azz barn to store it all in because you ran out of room in the basement.
