Effective this Friday, July 31 at 5 p.m., we are expanding the current statewide masking order requiring the wearing of masks or face coverings in the public spaces of all businesses across the state. Face coverings will also be required at outdoor public areas whenever it is not possible to maintain physical distancing.

This expansion of the masking order is an action that is fact-based, apolitical, and solidly grounded in science. While it can be an inconvenience, especially in the heat, the science and the data are very clear: wearing masks is the single best mitigation strategy we have to fight this virus. It is the best way to keep you and your family safe, to keep people out of the hospital, and to keep Maryland open for business. If you do nothing else, wearing a mask alone would help us significantly slow the spread of this virus and continue on our road to health and economic recovery.

PS, no traveling, either. See Larry enjoying his power over you? :wench:

Fun with numbers:

Number of confirmed cases in Maryland : 86,285
Number of confirmed deaths in Maryland : 3,347

The population of Maryland is slightly over 6 million.

That is 1.4% of the population confirmed positive, and .06% who've died.

I don't know about you all, but on the rare occasion that I have to wear a mask I have a terrible time breathing. I have to move it every so often to get some fresh air or I start getting lightheaded.

Now that I think about it, maybe that's the goal - to suffocate people and kill their brain cells so they'll keep voting for shitbags like Larry Hogan.

Same here. When I'm shopping I go down an aisle where no one else is and lift it up to get some air. I really feel bad for the workers that have to wear them constantly.

Here in Branson the only stores that require it are Walmart and Ulta. I do know that Walmart gets a lot less of my money because now I go in, get what I need, and leave. I don't browse around anymore. And Ulta is easy to avoid because I never need anything from there, I just like to browse and impulse buy.

Yes I am in my 50's and I don't breathe as well as I did when I was 24 or 34 ...... my chest starts hurting after 10 - 15 min

Have seen a few people jogging with masks..I just point and laugh.. But, the genie is out of the bottle, this control (wear a mask, do as we say) is now accepted and isn't going away any time soon. Kinda like how violence with protesting is now accepted by so many. Thank you, Mayor Rawlings-Blake "Because while we try to make sure that they were protected from the cars and other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well. I found that making a knot at the base of the elastics on each side provides a little opening for air flow. My glasses no longer fog up and I can breathe better.

It's craziness with the masks. When on vacation, I was wearing a mask a lot more, since we were in a lot more public places and waiting in lines, etc. I wasn't worried so much about getting COVID as I was that I have to keep washing the mask because it irritates my skin, especially when it's very hot outside. :frown:

For the life of me, I can't picture in my mind what you're saying here. My main problem with the mask is my glasses fogging. How is this done please. Are you talking about standard disposable masks with pleats?
