I don't really need "advice" per se. I know 6 yrs old is too young to fly alone. I just wondered if I was alone in that thinking.
What did the voices in your head tell you?

My niece is 8 and is finally done with her Dad. He never had time for her. He couldn't talk when she called because he had to go play basketball, he regifted her birthday present as a Christmas present, and he has a new family now and has let her know it. She has no desire anymore to even try to contact him. His loss.

they said "WWStD" ... and then I had visions of sugarplums dancing in my head wearing pink leg warmers. :ohwell:

So I decided to go on the internet instead. :cheesy:

Besides her getting through the new security checks by herself, is he on crack? What a jerk!

well, I imagine that I'd be able to put her on the plane and he'd be there when she gets off ... but that's not what turns my guts.

It's "what if" ... and you parents know what I mean. :frown:

I did know a kid about that age who flew by herself. But that was before 9/11 when you could go all the way to the gate with someone even if you didn't have a ticket.

#1 - did they come from JC Penney?

#2 - are you sure the dancing wasn't SmallT making candy in his kitchen?

I've had a couple parents share their kids' solo-flight horror stories with me ... even before them, though, there is just no way in hell I could put her on a plane alone at her age.

If she were 16, different story ... but 6? :jet:

She's too young to be put on a plane by herself. I would say a "normal" kid would have to be like 13 or 14 before I'd let em fly alone. 12 if he/she is street smart for that age.
