No animals (domestic dogs and/or cats) are turned away from the Humane Society of Charles County. They take all animals (other than wildlife). They even took in a tarantula (big harry spider)!

EWW, although I bet there are spider lovers out there willing to adopt? I wish there were more fosters also (previous post). That's why I try to encourage people to try fostering a critter. I figure once they foster, they will continue since it can be so rewarding. I always feel so good when I walk into HS and see many people, because I know that means critters are being claimed/adopted .

I found out late on Sunday night that the HS was full; had I known earlier, I'd have been there to try to foster a dog compatible with the two I have. Is there a way to get notices earlier automatically? Is there a way to contact the HS on Monday when they're closed to say I can foster? The phone system there seems to be really spotty and not the best way to get in touch with them; I'm not nearby, so just dropping in isn't always feasible. Any help?

Someone monitoring the forum will probably PM you about adding your name to the available foster homes.

They are working to upgrade or fix ? the phone system I heard.
