Bad Accident

Yes...it was my friend

He had just pulled out and was on his route when the crown victoria crossed and hit behind his driver seat...banged up the two passengers and cut him a little but the car kept going and slid to a stop quite a ways away. he did not make it over to check on the car: seems like a lot of good samaritans jumped in to help. He (driver) is home after a hospital check up and ok...but he is naturally unsettled by the accident.
He simply had no time to react except fro a quick pull to the shoulder to prevent a true head-on hit.

I am glad he is okay, Hessian. I saw it on my way to work, it looked terrible. Maybe it will teach some of our youth to use better judgement when driving.

Thanks harley....

Yeah,...he's not "guilt stricken-sobbing-with his head on the floor..."
but you make a good point: teen drivers should visit a rehab ward to see the pain and intensity of trying to rebuild broken bones, damaged organs, and bulky braces--empty some bed pans too.

Then a brief visit to the coroner's office might also rattle them.
CSI can only show so much.

I had a kid on a bicycle side swipe me, but he ended up unhurt. It took me about a year before I could even drive through that intersection again. I can't imagine your friend getting back in the drivers seat after this. Please express my sorrow and wishes of good fortune.

Enjoying the ride!!!!
i had a friend years ago he was driving down suitland parkway, at that time there were not street lights, not sure if that has changed or not, it was very dark and he hit something, thought it was a dog or deer, got out and there was a person under his car. She died, and he felt terriable. After investigation, it was somehow strung out on drugs and they just came out of of the blue.

Serious and deadly accidents happen to youth drivers on a regular basis. While I ran with Solomons VRSFD years ago we had ran a very bad accident involving deaths of High School students on Rousby Hall Road.

There doesn't seem to be a solution to problem. Today's youth do not have the same level of respect for themselves or others that past generations have had.
