Ive wanted to try the arbonne, ive heard lots of raves about it. Ive been using the Bare minerals liquid serum foundation lately and i love it! not only is the color match great for me to look natural and even things out.. but it has absolutely erased the dark patches I had on my face from hormonal acne scarring. I didnt even realize that the serum part of the makeup even existed so I didnt even attribute it to the foundation until I caught a commercial for it. you have to buyt he brush though, it doesnt go on with hands or a beauty blender very well.

:) im a big fan

I almost bought it 2 weekends ago while I was shopping at Sephora. I recently ordered my Arbonne liquid foundation so I opted to wait on the BM liquid foundation. I heard Makeup Forever is a good brand. I'm going to check into that soon as well.

Is there a place in Waldorf I can go to get my makeup done by a professional (or semi)? I also need to find a place to get my hair done that won't be too expensive? A friend of mine is treating for my face/nails/hair for a party on the boat at National Harbor but I don't want to end up with a $200 bill. Figured I will be spending time getting my nails done before hand, but the hair/makeup obviously on that same day. I am fully capable of doing my own hair, but it doesn't stay like I fix it for long due to humidity and/or me sweating, so I assume hair spray will be needed in large amounts? I want to get something like one of these hairstyles:

I got my make up done at The Hair Company for my sisters wedding this weekend and they used this. I actually like it a lot and I haven't used a liquid foundation in years.

great - I tend to have dry skin, and even though I moisturize, the dry BM tends to make me look chalky and I'd prefer to have a moist-looking face than a matte chalky one.

I went to JCP in the Mall yesterday to buy the new foundation. I didn't get a chance to try it yet. I also bought one of the pink balls to use to apply it with in a light way vs. using my fingers. That stuff sure can be pricey. 2 items and it cost me $42. The lady in the dept. was nice and was willing to show me how to use everything they had there for sale, but I didn't have time - I said I'd come back another day. I'm not very make-up savvy. Make-up is such an individual thing, so I'd rather work with a person vs. viewing videos online. The person can make recommendation for my individual needs.

you bought the bare minerals foundation? It does not go on with the beuty blender (pink ball) very well at all..I wouldnt use it. The foundation has a serum base that get absorbed too easily intot he blender and then it seperates and goes on strange. Plus it wastes product. One or two drops on the brush gives the best result. It takes very very little.

I apply liquid foundation with my hands. For me it is the best way and there's no contamination. It doesn't take long for sponges and brushes to get dirty. My routine is this: moisturizer, primer, concealer, foundation, eyeshadow/liner, blush, mascara, highlighter. Total time is maybe 10 minutes if I'm taking my time.

oh no ..... I guess the ball will go back then. She said the special brush was $30-some (don't recall exactly) and I can't spend $30+ on a brush for applying makeup - paying $20 for that pink ball was a stretch ugh.

Yeah i did the same and was initially not happy with the foundation because of it. Because of the serum base it absorbs into your hands for hand application as well. I shelled the money out for the brush and was much happier with the results. the brush is good quality and I rinse and dry it every few days and its in great shape.

I noticed in the reviews that several people commented that the foundation has an odd unpleasant smell. Has anyone here noticed that?

Thats the brush..hair company has them in stock as well..I think I paid the same price.

I haven't noticed a smell and im fairly sensitive to smells. I have noticed that if you put on too much it does not look good..a drop or two is all you need. And the color correction it has done to my skin is very impressive.

I picked the lightest color I could find there, and now that I've seen the list of colors online, I realize that 10 was NOT the lightest color they have - I thought it looked a tad dark in the bottle. Thankfully I didn't use anything yet, so I will be swapping for a lighter color when I return the pink ball and get the proper brush ..... it's so GREAT having you all available to bounce things off of ...... thanks for being a good example of how the forum can enhance our lives :huggy: ... you too Chasey!

Ugh. I love eyeshadow, neutrals in particular, but I rarely actually wear eyeshadow. I have a neutral palette that I'm not in love with - there are only two colors that I use - so now I want to get the BM eyeshadow palette so I can not use it.

:jameo:

I actually broke down and bought a palette of BLUE eye shadow.

I think the foundation was $20 at JCP. Online it says $29 hmmm maybe the one I bought has less in it? Saw it has SPF 20 - that may be the "smell" people are complaining about?
