Have not had them do any work but them seem really nice at Kromatic Customs in St. Mary's square. What is a good price to get an SUV detailed?

Call Brian 301-751-4681 he works at PJ's auto body shop and does all the detailing, he does excellent work and does detailing on the side. Can't hurt to call and ask him!!!

Friend had it done at Curtis; believe that was the name. It is the little shack by Mike's bikes (and Curtis Tires). She paid ~$80, appointment was for 3 hours and her vehicle looked GREAT.

There is a guy that I work with who does it on the side. I got my truck done by him and it I could eat off of it! I think I paid around $100 but it is well worth it. He does a really good job! If there is anybody interested just message me and I will give you his number.

You have to be really careful who you choose to detail your automobile. Anyone can make a car look good, but there are too many detailer hacks out there that don't know the proper way to detail paint. Most cover up swirls and fine scratches with a glaze type product that hides the imperfections. Over a short period of time and washes the glaze diminishes and the swirls are still there.
Now the ones that buff/polish with a high speed buffer, SOME (not all) damage the paint even worse. They leave buffer burns or holograms in the paint caused by incorrect techniques and polish/pad combos. The only way to remove imperfections in the paint is to polish them out and its hard to find someone that knows how to do it correctly.

I have not seen a dealership yet that employs detailers that know how to detail correctly. As a matter of fact, dealerships are usually the worst in detailing. Their common practice is to throw on a thick glaze and HIDE the imperfections. Anyone that details your car in 2 to 3 hours, a proper detail.... not a wash and wax is not properly detailing your car.

Now, if you just want a wash and wax thats a whole different ball game. I'm mainly referring to the correct way to polish and seal your automobile paint. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Wash, clay bar, wax, rinse with cold water?

Are you a professional auto detailer or just an arm-chair quarterback?

If you are the former, then give us your contact info. If you are the latter, then thanks for telling us what we already know.

I'm not going to call myself a professional detailer as I don't know what constitutes someone having the right to be called a professional detailer. Just because someone washes and waxes cars for a living doesn't make them a professional. However I have quite a bit of experience in paint polishing and correction. I don't detail for the general public any longer, mainly just special requests.

I'm just trying to shed some light on the subject so people have somewhat of an idea what to look for in a detailer. A good detailer, will pay attention to the *details*.
