I did however start reading up on the garbage situation in PR, going back a few years. It’s bad. Their landfills are bursting and their waste management is atrocious.

It may have been intended to mock, but it’s close to the truth. PR is struggling with garbage. It’s a legitimate concern. PR has gotten worse over the years in terms of poverty
THAT is what good/great comedians do. Back in the olden days - Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason, OMGDon Rickles!! The Dean Martin Roasts - they ALL had jokes that would cause errrbody without a funnybone to clutch their pearls and faint!! :drama:

I would LOVE Don Rickles to be on earth for one day just to hear his comedy of the day. :jet:

Hawaii is having that same issue.. They were thinking about sending back to the main land but that wasn't approved. I believe there is only 1 land fill in all of Hawaii and it is almost full per state regulations.
They have lots of volcanos... :sshrug:

Last time I was in PR though, they told me that despite the streams and rivers - there’s a shortage of fresh water. They have to import a lot of it. Again, cost of living on an island with LOTS of PEOPLE. (A small population doesn’t require so much).

the place smelled to high heaven in the 70s.

I can't imagine what it's like now.

Well, they did have that big fire in Lahaina a few years back. Maybe they can turn that into a landfill.

Or, ship it into Demonrat-controlled cities. It's not like they'll even notice.

Just sneakin' around....
If there is so much garbage that smells, it's probably high in methane. Capture it and use it to provide power (Cuba/PR). But that costs money to implement, so nevermind.

Been to Lahaina many times... Lived in Hawaii from 1968 to 72 (went to UH) and have been back to visit often. Was there as late as 4 year ago... So enjoyed Lahaina and the Kaanapali area, but my favorite is still Waikiki .....
